YA, so yesterday I was up at R*Speed, a Miata specific shop in Marietta Ga, talking to the owner,Joe. I was asking him about clutches and what would be good for drifting, high abuse. He showed me a metallic 3-puck sprung clutch and a medium level pressure plate. We were talking about streetability and sofourth when he hands over the clutch and says "here, take it". Damn.. a new, free clutch. He also have me another clutch plate incase i thought the 3-puck was too much. Then i was asking if they had any sparkplug wire sets in..... Joe goes over to a display and grabs a set of red wires and hands them over with the same "here, take them." phrase. Damn.
So now i consider them a sponsor, not only because this, but they also give me prices they dont give anyone else and have been doing so for a long time. Now im waiting on a nice red R*Speed sticker for my car to go along with the others.
So, i go over to BatlGround to talk to Dan and tell him that he does not need to order a ACT clutch for me. As soon as i got there he put me to work doing little stuff. When i was done he told me i could use the lift and tools to install my clutch.
Well, the install, which i did on my own and have never done before, took me 5hrs. I took my time. Remember, i had to drop my driveshaft, cltuch cylinder, power-plant frame (unique to Miatas adn RX-7 only) ,exhaust and all my chassis braces. When i put everything back together... low and behold there were NOT ANY LEFT OVER BOLTS/NUTS!!!!
Now that the clutch is in.. its great. The pedal isnt too stiff and it grabs hard.
