  • import/drifting popularity = rich mans hobby???

Cause I'm thinking, the only reason why the import/drifting craze is big is because japanese sports cars werent big in the mid 90's so they started lowering the resale price dramatically over the year, hence, owning a fast/nice looking car for half the price of an exotic/domestic sports car (NSX = the poor mans' ferrari???).

But now, with the "increased" popularity due to recent mainstream movies, import cars are getting mad expensive. Wasn't the best aspect of the import culture was to be able to afford a nice looking/(fast in some cases) for a nice price?

My question is this: will import cars ever lose there resale value "dramatically" within the next 10 years like how it did in the 90's?????????

Also: what "new" cars are RWD and under $20 grand that could substitue as today's rendition of the 240SX?

I don't think any of the current japanese sports cars' values are going to crash. They are already such a bargain at full MSRP, and they are great cars. (350z, s2000, rx-8, STi, EVO)

None. And probably not ever again. FWD is so cheap to make and not enough people buying sub-$20000 cars care about FWD vs. RWD.
