  • why do people hate FF cars?!

whats wrong with FF cars, i can drift just as good with an FF car than a FR.

no one hates them, and anyone who does hasn't tried driving their 240 on a slope in the snow.

agreed. i personally think ff's kick some major butt, but only if they are tuned properly. when you build an ff if the balance is kept in tact and all that, they are very awsome little cars. i persnally love my friends civic ( 95 SiR2 EG6) becasue its so fun to ride in. the thing just sticks to the corners....

        ANYWAY...

...haps YOU can drift just as well in an FF as an FR, but that would either make you very bad or very, very good. I'm gonna go with very bad.

This topic has been beaten to no end...but the short version is that FR cars are superior for drifting, and drag racing.

For your local touge, the FF is pretty much equal to an FR in my opinion. Just like with any FR, proper setup will make the difference. On the street everything is 90% driver anyway.

Yea, and your car makes a great shell to put an ls1 in. What's your point?

                  not nessicarily true.

picture trying to smoothly launch a 700hp supra in cramped stop and go traffic heading up a bridge.

                  in the rain.

no ls1 for fd. it's like putting a mercury 502 marine engine in your cavalier.

Like putting a murcury 502 marine motor in a cavalier? Hrm...now that would be quick...

The same people who scream that there should only be rotaries in RX-7's are the same type of people who insist that FF cars are just understeering deathboxes. They say it like FR cars don't understeer.

haha, yeah. i like ff though, and i think there is a time and a place for all kinds of crap in an fd, i just don't like hearing, oh sweet you got a civic? ls1 is god's gift to the world, do the swap. oh sweet, 240? ls1. not that you're the guy to say it or anything, it's just annoying regardless. you seem to be pretty smart though, and despite not agreeing with you on a few things, i have a good deal of respect for you, if i may of course say so.

                          lol thanks.

I always like to see new people with their head not in their arse, so we're even

As far as the ls1, the reason I would use it is weight. I believe chevy makes an all aluminum 427 as well, that would be pretty choice.

In general, I've heard waaaay more people suggest putting an SR20 in anything that moves than an LS1.

that i hear ya on, and i think its rediculous. its a great motor and all, but common, an sr20 in a Z is rediculous. i know its a sweet drift car, but still, i would preffer to see a turbo on the vq35....

i think threads like this one are pointless...the argument doesnt get anywhere no matter how many times it is brought up. in all honesty, it comes down to personaly prefference...there is no way to say that FR cars are better than FF's or vice versa. some people like domestics, some like imports. some like japanese cars, some like european cars. some people like FR and some like FF. thats all there is to it.

It's called weight distrubution. Ever heard of it? for a heavy car like a 350z, nothing is more important. And a tuned SR20 in a 350z makes a hella better drift car than a VQ35 in a 350z
