  • TRD springs info Ae86

need info on the spring rates of these springs:
    TRD part# 00602-48130-001

their site doesnt have info and i'd like to know if this things are enough to start drifting...i'll get shocks later when my pockets heal

I got my 86 in the shop under 20v surgery to come out of it this weekend... SR5 w/ welded diff, i been practicing in it for 6months with a 40hp 4ac engine (2pistons missfired and sometimes they didnt!)

Those are nasty springs. That code is for the progressive TRD spring which is the same spring as the Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Really soft and not worth it.

yes they are progressive, but wouln't they be hard once i start sliding?
the thing is i can get them for $150 new....and they worth $280+

but if you say they're soft should i even get em to drift on?

Don't bother buying them, they're useless. Get some TRD Linear springs, if you have a car setup mostly for track, get 8k front and 6k rear. If you have a street car I recommend something like 6.5 front 5.7 rear

Go with what you're comfortable with, but if you want to drift, do not get progressive springs, too much body roll.

This guy can help you out with getting some GOOD TRD springs, his name is Max

for beginers use 6.0 kg up front
              4.7 kg in the rear
also does pretty well on the street

want to get a little bit more wild get 8.0 front and 6.0 or 6.5 rears

you have to use the right shocks as well

I run 12 kg fronts 10 kg rears for my daily driver
              hahahaha

                        www.technotoytuning.com get those instead

they make coilovers and you can get'em in whatever spring rate you want.

Guys, what TRD part are these:
                          48131-ae801-80 (8.0kg/mm front?)
                          48231-ae801-70 (7.0kg/mm rear?)

7.0 rear seem waaay to stiff for intermidiate skill drifting? i'm way past the beginer stage and far from any pro/advanced...only have ~ 6months burning tires
