FD build up- almost done, but would like some suggestions

eh, I like my wheels the way they are and Im not much of a body kit person.. they are a pain in the *Censored**Censored**Censored* if you need to jack the car up. I would only rock one if I got a sponsor for it..

what kind of offset can FDs do stock?

it all depends... the maximum backspace on a stock car is like 6 inches and frontspace is around 3 inches. The offsets can get nuts though. I have seen 12 inch rears with a 5 1/2 inch lip. Im not going to be using those wheels for runs though because its alot easier to find tires for my stockers and I can get the wheels for less than 100 a pop... oh yeah, and they are light

A water injection kit never hurt either... the test mule for one of the kits saw below ambient intake temps under full throttle on an 80F day (I think he was showing 60F). Personally I thin WI is the savior of any FI rotary

With the water injection you lower intake temps, steam clean your engine, and GREATLY reduce the risk of detonation. For 200-300 bucks I think its the best possible mod out there. Just dont tune for it, keep it as just a motor saver.

Alot of people tune their ecu's for WI for a power adder but I think rotaries shouldnt tune for it because if your nozzle clogs or you run dry you are f'd

GotNismo was reffering to cryo treatment of engine parts. su_maverick is talking about an injection system to introduce water, in this case, into the intake track, usually close to the intake ports to cool the intake charge to make safer power. It is the same principal behind intercoolers, just a different approach. I think they are really good ideas and water is readily available for refilling it often. I want to install an alcohol injection kit on my FC to see what its all about. I have run alcohol systems alone on rotaries, but never just injecting it over gas. I think it would work even better, but you can't exactly pick it up at the local 7-11 I plan to hook mine up to my Haltech so when the temp reaches a certain setting, the kit comes online. The water injection setup would work really well setup the same way as well.

Personally I belive that a WI kit is great for rotaries that have cooling issues and you can piece together a kit for under 150-175 bucks. What better mod in the world than that? Personally I am going to go with a Hobbs pressure switch for my activation and set it at 8psi. I dont have normal cooling problems and I think this should run fine. I really just want it for when I rag on the car.
The expensive parts are going to be these things:
Shurflo water pump ~$60
Pressure switch~$30
Fuel Hose~ $40 (for 10 feet, damn is it expensive)
Regulator~$30
Everything else is little bits and pieces from radio shack and mcmaster carr

speedmachine, ya'll offer the treatment (the cryo treatment). what is it an alternative too? fatter apex seals? or just an all around stabilizing of the high traffic areas. idk im considering a motor from you guys with a large street port, and the chryo treatment. maveric, im really curious about the water injection, how much cooler are we talking AFTER the addition of a larger intercooler?

Water injection can make a serious difference in intake temps. It really doesnt affect the kit what IC you are running since the nozzle is usually placed after the IC, usually around the intake elbow next to the throttle body. On an FD people have seen 10C drop in intake temps. Lets put it this way, on an 80F day under hard boost, the test car was seeing 60F intake temps under 10psi boost which would mean a baking engine bay. I have had first hand reports from guys at Gotham stating that they have seen WI save a car from a situation when it normally would have detonated. If you have any more questions, let me know.

Hey, saw your post in my thread, the cars sounds awesome, i would say you need to get into some kind of mods for more steering angle. the least i would do is run a washer type spacer on the stock tie rod, i use the super now bolt in spacers, with heim joint tie rod ends, http://www.supernow.co.jp/shop/main.php?ID=SHOP, the guys from secret element can get you that stuff, you'll have about 8 more degrees from that stuff. i am running the super now stuff, with a modified spindle for even more angle!!
Also, try to get your hands on a good clutch diff (kaaz is good, and easy to get in the US), it will make it easier to manipulate the car under load in drift....
