Tire to rim widths

What's the widest rims that 255 tires will fit on safely? And the narrowest rim taht a 275 tire will fit on w/o looking like a balloon? Or a 295? I need to look for a wheel that will give me flexibility between those sizes.

10.5 or 11 would be best, i work at a wheel shop, and basically...

1. i put a 225 on a 10.5 and it was super duper duper stretched

2. i put a 275 on a 10.5 and it didnt balloon really at all

3. a 225 will look slightly stretched but nothing crazy, lemme show you
