  • some advice

    Hi everyone,

I've been into cars for some time and have just recently gotten really interested in drifting. I'm looking for a new car, and i was wondering what do you think would be best for a beginner. I would like something that i could learn the basics in and something thats reliable . I was thinking 240sx since it seems popular in drifting, but i'm open to anything.

    get an AE86
    do suspensions and LSD
    you're good to go

    get a 240sx (also manual)
    do suspensions and LSD
    you're good to go

these two cars are great base for beginners IMO
there's a lot more but again, this is my opinion

well if you could afford it then i'd say s14 94-97? nissan 240 (flame me if you want. im not a nissan specialist :P). just cause theyre newer and less chance of rust on the frame. apparently more abundant because s13's are old and harder for me to find in a salvage yard. and u dont have to worry about having the crappier truck motor. i know the truck motor isnt crap... but you know what i mean.

corolla's - i have one. its really old. an 84 to be exact. had lots of rust. more rust is bound to spring up soon just because its old. all the parts are old. lots of it needs to be replaced.

s13's - fun to drift and feel solid. lots of easily obtainable parts for it.

s14 - same as above but newer :P

To be totally honest, I am not sure. I have had her since January/Febuary saved on my hard-drive. I have also seen her on other peoples signatures, thats why I rarely ever post her.

                            re

I'd say get an older f-body or an older 3rd gen mustang.
most 350 3rd gen f-bodies have a broad power band, and no
problem getting sideways, only thing is you might have
to do some suspension work since its an older car.
