4WD question

alright everyone, i gots me another ? i know with some 4wd drive cars have the ability to go from 4wd to rwd just by pulling a fuse. my question is if that can be done with any 4wd car. or just the high end monsters...aka skyline =)

Dependson the car, the Skyline can be converted easily because mechanically speaking its normally RWD, it uses electronic controls to connect the front wheels when nessisary.

For example on Impezza's you must physically disconnect the front drive axels, there was a bit on that in sport compact car a few months back.

To answer your question in the most simple way - all AWD systems are different.

I've heard that about the GT-Rs too, but am not sure it it messes with anything else...

Is there a specific car that you want to convert?

you can do it but dont expect stuff to last along time
if you take out the front drive axels it is going to put 100% of the strain on the rear end that was only designed for 50%
would need to beef it up but that wouldnt be to hard
it really depends on the car.
