    Both of these rods and pistons Orientation is the same way so this is the forward part of the rod but if you notice two things A, the tang on the back of the bearing on this factory rod is on this side when you look at this aftermarket rod it's on this side , the mistake that gets made is when people do a forged internal swap and they change from the factory rod to an aftermarket rod they say I want to put it in the same orientation they make the mistake of actually putting the rod in this direction with the tang on the same side, the problem is you can see the chamfer on this side of the rod is very very small very comparable to the factory rod but if you flip it over the aftermarket rod actually has a much larger chamfer on one side as compared to the other and where that's important is when you take the rod cap off and install the rod bearing the rod bearing is actually offset in the rod you can actually see the rod bearing is offset to this side of the rod so that the chamfer actually doesn't ​...
