what he says. what's wrong with a fmic like the one blitz offers. it's still cheaper than going custom v mount, with the added bonus of practicality for doing your own maintenance!

I would hope those who have a custom v mount set up could do there own maintenance.

why would you do it? Hardcore Drift0r??

seriously, A front mount works MUCH better. The reason for top mounts is because Intercoolers are expensive and are the first thing to get damaged in a crash. Other than 'protection' theres really no need to do it that way.

Im sure if I smashed a big ole BLITZ cooler, Id rethink positioning it as well

If its a car strictly for Drifting then go for it...

I have a rotory so for my car a v mount set up would work better due to more efficient air flow. the radiator would no longer be blocked by a intercooler. they would get about the same amount of air.

The reason most have V-mount is because equal cold airflow goes to the Intercooler and the Radiator. It makes the intercooler work and the radiator get cold air.

pretty much you see em on tuner cars alot so I was just wondering if there was some kind of huge reasoning behind it

damn 3k+? you gotta be really dumb to pay that amount of cash. Its basically some brackets and piping, nothing special.
I might as well sell bolt on kits for 5k!

You have to know how to reinforce the front of the car after you cut the radiator core support out. It's a structural member so you have to be careful around there.

C'mon. The front support is thin gauge sheetmetal, connecting both of the front subframes. You can easily upgrade that with some round tubing and thicker sheetmetal. Not too hard to do.
Yes its a structural member, but its not a huge deal if you modify it.
Ever been to a body shop? Most front supports are bolted to the car. That says a lot of things kiddo.
