volvo 740 gle... it's got a 2.3l engine that's rated for 114hp and 136ft/lbs, but it was made back in '85, so i figure it's much less now. at least the thing is as durable as a tank

        WOW

I come from the American Domestic car back ground, and its hard for me to believe you can use such low powered motors to use in any kind of racing besides maybe go cart racing LOL. But props for racing what ya brung, it really shows the love for the sport that you all have.

its mainly the fact that you dont need very much power to drift. think of Ueo in his 86 putting down about 185 at d1. still drifts most beautifully.

just because you aren't making crap for power doesn't mean you have any kind of total balance. the whole car goes together to create balance. that suspension, tire size and grip, corner weights/ weight distrabution, and very usable engine power and broad torque curve all go together to create a car that is "balanced" and getting your car to that takes ALOT of work, not just sitting down with the tein catalog and ordering what ever they sell for your car.

I believe that is untrue. A friend of mine bought a Vette and we were curious on the horse power rating, Dealer claimed it had 320 RWHP meaning 320 horsies are hitting the floor. So by using ur equation The car has 386 Hp to the Fly? That sounds wierd to me.. I had a point and i lost it o well I had a brain fart

Like I said, a ballpark. By adding up parasitic losses, Daimler-Chrysler came up with this magical figure for a rear-wheel-drive vehicle of theirs. Almost magically, most RWD vehicles roughly follow this 17.3% parasitic loss idea. FWD vehicles have less parasitic loss because they don't have a long driveshaft leading to a rear diff. AWD vehicles have more parasitic loss because they are driving all four wheels.

as of right now i'm at 158 to the wheels, but by the end of Aug. with 10psi my car should be even more fun to throw sideways.

                      wow.
Nope I haven't done anything special to her at all. I've just taken really good care of it. I may drive it hard, but it's always had it's oil changed on time, always burnt 89 octane gas and if I spot any trouble I get it fixed right away. This car has been in the ditch twice and the only damage it sustained was from being pulled out incorrectly. Miyoki's been a great little car and has been more reliable than my mom's 99 Taurus. She takes care of me, looks good, and has V8 power and Rwd. She's fast enough to make me smile and slow enough not to kill me. I woudn't trade her for any other car in the world.
