There's so much misinformation and guessing in this thread it's not even funny.

The Renesis motor is a backwards step from almost any turbo'd rotary engine, period.
Trying to throw this 13B-MSP motor into an FD is a definite step back in performance, period.

The side-port (exhaust) 13B has less performance potential than any of the earlier 13B due to the exhaust port design.
This is eliminating the compression ratio changes and three-stage intake design on the RX-8.
A bridge port 13B will make more power and torque than the RX-8 ever will.

You can't just swap out rotors out of the 13B-MSP from any of the 13B motors.
The 13B-MSP runs "cut" rotors that are made for the special side-ports.
The older 13B rotor do not have this cut.
If you have the resources, you could conceivably cut the rotors yourself and have everything rebalanced.
I doubt many of us can do this.

umm...even if u do swap the engine...Theres like no space for major mods like TURBO unless u do some stuff to it.

Also some people expect any engines will fit their cars...I mean ive seen rx-7 with a s2000 engine. Mad crazy but hella work and hella money. BLING BLANG

Looking at the hood I think its a N/A, Turbo IIs have an air duct on the hood. If I had the chance I know I'd buy it and fix it up.

The car is a base model with the 4-lug wheels.
Don't bother with those, as it has inferior brakes compares to most of the 5-luggers.
Trust me, you're going to be asking for 5-lug brake upgrade shortly after.

Ok, let me get this straight - the Renesis motor is a completely different construction than the 13B. It is way more economical (now the unburnt fuel doesn't go directly to the exhaust), but lacks the performance than any of the REW motors have (13B and 20B). I don't think it's a good engine to start with as a project... Simply look at Abel Ibarra's K&N Filters RX-8 - it's powered by a twin turbo 20B. How about the Amemiya Aspara Drink JGTC GT300 racer? It's a 20B powered RX-7 with turbos taken off and modded mechanically. And all the FD RX-7 driftcars in Japan? I haven't seen ANY of those powered by the Renesis. It points to the fact that it simply isn't a good engine to swap.

Swapping a 20B into an FC:

As for the R26B, none of them were put into a production car, except the prototype cars that Mazda used to test the new engine. And, unfortunately, they didn't decide to put it into a production car, which is quite sad. The R26B is a four rotor engine with a variable intake length, which powered the Mazda 787B Le Mans 24h racecar. I have seen some photos of four rotor engines made in-house. Hurley Engineering (http://www.hurleyrotary.com) has even made a six-rotor engine, but there's no details on the website. It may cost big money, so I don't think it's the smartest thing to swap in.

Another possibility is a three-rotor, single-turbocharged and intercooled 13G engine, which is an extremely rare thing, despite the fact it was sold by Mazdaspeed to the "general" public (20k $ for the core only). It was designed to fit the 727C racecar and a production car, and was used from 1984 till 1989. 13G is a direct predecessor to the 20B. Please take note: there was also a four-rotor engine called the 13J, but it's different from a 13G, as it was designed some years later.

Before you guys do anything, I would reccomend checking this page:

It's a great source of rotary information.
