From what ive gathered from reading on the cressida forums, none of the JDM front ends fit the USDM cars, i havent tried it myself, but one of the members got a Mark II front end and he said that the fenders and the front doors dont line up right. The suspension is really hard to find parts for also, I have heard of aftermarket sway bars and lowering springs, but no aftermarket shocks apparently. There are supposed to be Tein coilovers that work, but I doubt they stock them in the US. There were very few 5 spd cressidas and the swap is supposed to be kinda hard, but no impossible. The 1jz swap is not too hard if you are good with wiring also. Don't take any of this to heart as it is all what I remember from reading, not personal experience.

there was a good write up on this swap though i forgot wat i typed into google....may have been cressida manual swap. anyways the guy walked you through wat he did and the was a key point in there using a part from another vehicle. Good read.

Me on the other hand im looking at converting a 90 maxima from fwd to rwd and attepting to create a cefiro. that i believe is pretty hard but fairly easy in the same token....hard being x referencing it all...easy being doing the do

They will take the 1jz and the 2jz the tourer had turbo stock as well.

thats gonna be really hard and is gonna cost you a lot of money...i have a maxima (94) also and i wouldnt want to convert it to a cefiro because that would be a waste of money (unless it was a newer I30, because there is a nice VIP kit for it) and with the amount paying for that, i can buy another car.

A waste of money to you, a worthwhile investment to others.

They are similar to the Chaser but they dont share any body panels or chassis parts. The earliest model Cressidas came with the 4MGE, same motor as the 1st gen supras. The 2nd gen Cressidas were fitted with the 5MGE, same as the Supra of that generation. The 3rd and last year of the Cressidas were 7MGE powered. Same motor that powers the MA70 Supras.

youre half way there......... Supra motor, yeah... 3G, no such thing. Unless youre talking about the 3SGTE or 3SGE. But I doubt that's what you meant.

7MGTE swap sounds a little better then the 1jz, just because of avalabity.

7MGTE has a problem of its head floating under boost. It needs to be retorqued to 70ft.lbs. or so. No more than 80 though.

1JZGTE doesnt have that problem... Price is the same for both motors

                                Check out this link:

                                http://www.driftcentral.com/forum//f...?s=&forumid=32

Its cressida stuff. A guy on the board did a 1j/manual swap along with the chaser front end. Look at the pics and what he had to do to get it to fit.
