zach.jopson 8 April, 2018 at 02:33 Reply @formulad What an awesome event! I need to try to grab a Media Pass for NJ!
driftsquid 8 April, 2018 at 02:46 Reply Loving this season more the ever. So freaking good to not only see these guys on the podium @fredricaasbo @forrestwang808 @piotrwiecek, but also see it’s Nexen, Achilles, and falken. @formulad you got the rules sorted to make this series an even playing field. Loving it and I’m going to do what ever I can to make it to FD 2019!!! The #RBM3 is coming 🤘🤘
mbdriftwives 8 April, 2018 at 03:37 Reply It’s cause they’re hot! @fredricaasbo @forrestwang808 and they can drive!
mattiznoguud 8 April, 2018 at 05:22 Reply There should be wheelbase restrictions or something. There’s no style in sliding a hot hatchback. There’s never enough angle, Aasbo always looks like he’s frantically trying to match anyone’s line with the stupid hatchback. The only time he had a smooth run is when leading, which you can clearly see the tiny amount of angle he’s able to get. Not knocking 4 cylinders, just please God can you force him into something that’s RWD FROM PRODUCTION? I mean, this is Formula DRIFT right? Leave the hatchbacks in rally, rally cross, and time attack. Only time a hot hatchback should be drifting is with an e brake and plastic trays.
mattiznoguud 8 April, 2018 at 05:23 Reply And y’all fucked over Hohnadell. Judges were really showing their colors the past two days lmao.
lateapexingmiata_ 8 April, 2018 at 05:40 Reply @mattiznoguud wait you said “he had a smooth run only when he is leading” but he’s still “frantically trying to match anyone’s line?” The concept of chasing is to match someone, what else do you expect I find no sense in your statement, also the wheel base doesn’t matter, the miatas driven by mohan and mad mike (more notably mad mike) have a much smaller wheel base than the corolla, so wheelbase should play 0 role. Aasbo is literally backed by engineers and has a pretty outstanding team, so i highly doubt they’d listen to internet scientists.
mattiznoguud 8 April, 2018 at 05:42 Reply @lateapexingmiata_ you can be smooth with no angle on a lead. During chase he has to match the line and angle, that’s where the franticness comes into play. The miata still gets more angle than he can manage so dunno. It’s my two cents. He intentionally slows down on runs to screw up the chasing driver
lmssndmnn 8 April, 2018 at 07:46 Reply @mattiznoguud if you look at the wheelbase of a brz, the corolla got 130mm more. I think it’s just his style to drift a little bit slower than the others.
imgabiwabi_ 8 April, 2018 at 10:05 Reply Could someone please tell me which song they were playing at the event after they announced winners and everybody was walking out ?
ls3samfordz32 8 April, 2018 at 11:16 Reply Amazing show, was rooting for forest and matt field. wouldve been so awesome to see forest come back and take the dub. still a serious start to the season.
usdmlee 8 April, 2018 at 11:47 Reply @ebeastx3 completely disagree from a judging perspective. Wang ran shallow and didn’t follow nearly as close as Aasbo in the final run and Aasbo’s lead was about on par, maybe a little more shallow than Wang’s lead. fair call even though I wanted Wang to win
albanianredneck 8 April, 2018 at 15:46 Reply @mattiznoguud you seen that as well? I used to be a fan, but when 75% of the lead runs he does he slows down so fucking Much that when the chase car gets on him he’s back on the gas in a 4 banger which spools up in like .2 sec he’s already at max rpm while the chase car is just getting on the gas! he’s not fluid with he’s lead runs! That’s my 2 cents and I personally don’t think he should have won.. but what the duck do I know…
zach_mathewson 8 April, 2018 at 16:14 Reply The worst @formulad event I’ve been to I’ve been to a lot the judging the facility the schedule of events the safety safari the audio the live stream all of it sucked. Extremely disappointed.
brakeboostbill 8 April, 2018 at 16:53 Reply @zach_mathewson see that judging that put tuerck through? Didn’t even slide the first turn. Pssshhhhh
_the.bigay_ 8 April, 2018 at 17:31 Reply Would’ve loved to see the final outcome with different judges…
spikedrift 8 April, 2018 at 19:17 Reply Calls where good thought out the event. Decisions where easy to understand and this event did not have any wins/losses that where out of place. Great round1 over all. @fredricaasbo deserved first, @forrestwang808 brought speed and style, killed it. I would have loved to see Wang vs deane. @justinpawlak13 looked stronger than ever. @federicosceriffo17 shaking out the bugs, car is beautiful. Going to be a good year😀.
spikedrift 8 April, 2018 at 19:18 Reply @_walter.cooper_ would have been the same. Fair judging by the book.
spikedrift 8 April, 2018 at 19:19 Reply @kieranconradie they both zeroed out. First run deane was better. Every run counts.
l_saintlike_l 10 April, 2018 at 06:51 Reply @brakeboostbill Dunno bout you but I also reckon the judges shoulda put Alec through. Two zeros, yeah, but Alec completed the second run, even with the smacking of the wall. Essa seemed to straighten up at the hairpin and he got away with it too. 🤔🤔🤔
