Bought in August 2005 in Portland, OR. Car has a clean history, no accidents. Prepped in Fall/Winter 2005 for the 2006 season in the SCCA's "Street Touring S" class. The car earned several wins that year, including the 2006 ProSolo and Solo2 National Championships held in Topeka, KS. This is the only 240sx to have ever won a ProSolo or Solo2 National Championship in the SCCA's history. Car was featured in May 2006 issue of Grassroots Motorsports.
Prepped in Fall/Winter 2006 for 2007 season in SCCA's "Street Modified" class. Car is very fast now - 2560lbs., >400whp/wtq. Car has traveled exclusively by enclosed trailer to out of town events. All lights, blinkers, wipers, etc. are intact and functional. Registration is current in CA but car won't pass smog in this state unless you "know somebody".
Purpose of this build is "grip", but the car would make a phenomenal drift machine with some smaller wheels and tires. It has the quick-ratio steering rack of the HICAS cars, and extremely good boost response. Would also make a great Time Attack machine with some track-type changes - a roll bar, and maybe some brake upgrades. Might want to change the intercooler out for non-sprint type races. My guess is it would run mid 11's in the quarter with some good drag tires. You could even street drive it outside of CA, the clutch isn't too bad now that it's broken in.
On the autocross course, this thing is as fast or faster than just about any DOT-tired production-tubbed car, with the right driver. Selling because the build part is what's fun for me, and this one is done.
