well one of the cool things about the welded its at full lock all the time so all you really have to do is turn in hard and give a little gas and the car will slide like no tomarrow. I know a guy who couldnt drift for Sh!t with an open and as soon as he welded it he won first place in the novice class during the fist comp at hialeia

WOOT i finally got a subie clutch type rear for my 510. some forum said it would give me more understeer... so i dunno they must be talkin about ppl that dont want to drift
another prob may be that its 3.70 gear and not the stock 3.90
i dunno what that will do.

          Yay for open diff

It does take some extra skill but i still can swing it.

I rocked open diff for over a year, I went through a lot of tires!! Now I prefer drifting left cause that's all I could do with the open diff.

its funny, since my last post i got rid of the cressida. Now i have a TE72 corolla and it has an open diff... its weird it will swing to the left hella good and burn both tires.... but to the right is one tire fire. time to weld the spider gears! or i could always get an ae86 GTS rear end... they bolt right up.... but shiot welded diff is more consistant anyways. I'd rather scrub on u turns than replace clutchpacks.

AE86 rear ends are getting pretty hard to find though. People sell them for way to much.
