240sx is a great car to learn on esp if some of it is offroading!!

But yea get a s13 or s14 for that and its a easier car to drift with right off(stock)
I drive a FC cause I just fell in love with rotary motors and they way they love to overrev and ask for more =)

i own a 92' holden vp commodore, which are lethal drifters, they are rwd and came out in a 3.8 v6, 5.0 v8, 5.7 v8. i own the 3.8 which is all you need, i'd say this car is one of the best drifters out there, my mate owns a 87' corolla sx twin cam which i love, and he is always suprised to see my vp whip out around corners

out of the subject but, i think this thread should become a sticky. its been in the forums for a long time now. and it covers alot about drift cars. and for the newbs they could just look up this thread. and learn so much.

Honestly stay away from the FF styled cars cause they are not popular to drift in cause they pull the car out of the corner not push like the FR or MR car's do, you dont need heaps of power to drift, a stock but well maintained AE86 will drift, a s13 has understeer but can b overcome using the right technique, as for AWD their is no point cause they are made for Gripping thats y they r hard to drift in. There is 2 type of drift styles 1: Show drift (make as much smoke as possible) and 2: Race drift (thats what they use in the D1).
Race drift consistes of many things, race line, control, speed, use of the track etc.....

FF could drift but I dont think you will be pulling choku doris or link drift after drift together..Since it's harder to hold a Drift with a front wheel drive.but hey if u think drifting a FF is fun go for it!!
But after u get bored and wanna do sidewinders down the track Get a FR-MR-or a RR trust me there way better for drift
