How Many Years Drifting?

I was gunna vote but decided not to after reading lorin's post. I wouldnt want to offend anybody. I cant say I have known about "drifting" (being the word) for an especially long time but I have a history with auto-x and rally, so while I didnt know to call it drifting, I would say I have been speed sliding (as it is a speed technique in the aforementioned motorsports) for quite a while. Have only known that it was a motorsport in and of itself known as drifting for about a year.

I have been driving touge since the day I got my license, due to the fact that I lived at the top of a mountian. I would drive to school, back from school, to work and back from work 5 days a week, plus any times that I wanted to go out other than that. Driving on a network of roads for a few years, I just wanted to go faster and faster, so I started to adopt gymkhana techniques soon after that and eventually got into flat out drifting. I have had some down time, since my car was destroyed a while ago, but I'd say that I started 5 years ago.

It wasn't until recently that I found out that what I was doing accually had a name, I thought that "drift" was just a term that racers used to describe getting the rear end out sideways.

This Initial D must be some crap if people start drifting because of it. I saw that Suncoast Video now carries it - I may go check it out.

I've been drifting for about 5 years so I voted 5. I taught one of my best friends how to drift years ago, he and 808Matto are the only people I know that've been drifting this long.

I remember when drifting was an underground sport that got no attention from the mainstream. I've actually been drifting longer than I've been autocrossing but I learned to grip before drifting so its been a fun venture for me.

2 actual years drifting a rwd car, before that was just my pathfinder. i know and have learned of the drift scene since 1998. with option and inital d at hand. hehehe

I've been drifting for like maybe 8 months, but i've probably only gone to drift a max of like 25 nights out of those 8 months cause i have school.

Is being in Auto-X and unpurposely letting the rear traction loose and scaring the ("bajessus") out of me counted as experience? If not then.. 2yrs 1 yr ff and 1 yr fr My celica was cool until i got bored. It's time to move on

Yup My first Car was a 88 Conquest TSI i bought back in 93 oct 24.. Yup i remember the date =)sorry no pics of it here..had too much fun in my first car to take pics ..I was always out!!
ok my second car was a 86 Sport FC rx7..Behind is My friends 93 190E I did the Black outs personaly =)
here is a pic of it..I bought this car in 95..Kinda funky huh!!
I was only 16 then turned 17 while i had this car..I learned to drift this car for about 2 1\2 years before I junked it..
Haha yes JUNKED IT..It was falling apart and loosing nuts and bolts since I drive it hard and barely mantain those things..Yes is you drive hard..Everything wil lcome loose including your frame!!lol
