  • not enough HP!

so i was driving my car around my favorite road and started trying to get her to drift to get it to get going at all i had to flick it dangerously hard i think i need more HP to get the back wheels out
    or stiffer suspension

but i think its my glorius 100HP coming out of my rotary

does good in first and second

car is made for a go kart track

    What specs are yours?

yeah, i could drift my FC when it was stock plus clogged cats so i don't see why you'd have a problem unless you're running some wide sicky tires in the rear.

Its not about power. If you cant spin the wheels with power then transfer some weight. um YO

May i sugest enter the corner extra fast, tap the brakes hard to transfer it to the front when turn. It may not even take any power to get it sideways with that technique.

see i could flick it into a corner like that but im drivng an FB
so it has snap over steer and 4 tunr lock to lock steering
if im not in control of the car i will wreck

practice somewere you can get alot of speed up safely and practice tail braking.

this is a great technique....i foigured that out, and its alot easier on your motor/tranny, just make sure you have good brakes up front, and brake drifitng isnt that hard (considering we are talking about drifting here, an alrready challengng motorsport).

and with this move you will also keep great grip upfront and front tire grip = control = not crashing

go have some more fun man!!!

I drive an '85 Rx-7. I've drifted it just by applying the brakes on an off ramp. I think I was going 55mph. Just pressed on the brakes too hard when I was turning but I went with it. I don't think you need more hp. I'd rather have better susp. than more hp, but hp is cheaper right now than susp. You and I are the only ones with FBs as far as I know. Just have fun and be safe. Braking drift is fun. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

                  chevette = 60hp.

                  100hp would scare me.

                  scare me into drifting more.

Yeah i did that by mistake in the rain before i actualy learned it. I had to find a big open area to practice it because the speeds it took me to learn it. Of course im abit better now. lol

HP is not needed to drift. about right now, Ueo is considered the top drifter in the D1GP and he has about 180HP. sure it is a lot compared to your guys cars, but compared to other D1GP car where HP does not dip below 300HP, it is proof power doesn't matter. as long as you have enough to spin the tires.

if you can't get the rear end out you can a) put crappy tires or up the air pressure in the back tires(try to make the contact patch less somehow) or b) get better.

                        rock.

ueo is not considered the best drifter in d1 right now and there quite a few cars in d1 under 300hp...
