I just wear plain old New Balances. However, I don't make a habit of actually drifting, just a bit of touge driving, so things may differ for me. I need some new shoes, though, so maybe I'll get something good for driving.

I didn't mean to imply that you're ignorant, sorry if it came across like that. I also never said "you can't tell the difference between those things". I'd also be interested to know how you got away with driving from the age of 13...

I'm simply saying that I personally have never really felt the need to wear racing shoes, but if you really want to thats cool.

I thought that the origional question was if shoes really do help, and my answer was "no" and that you're probably just more fomfortable.

well, first of all, I got to drive when I was 13 because I lived in italy. I drove illegaly...^_^...I guess everyone has their own opinion...but I think if you wear thiner shoes it really does help...it doesn't make you a better driver...but it makes it easier on the shifting, at least for me it does...so yeah...

Hey i've been using my wrestling shoes and they are great. they are so similar to racing shoes that if i cover the top of the shoes with my pants people will swear i have racing shoes on, and i paid onlt 19.99 for them when i was in my high school wrestling team.

midfoot is pressing the gas and break at the same time with your foot in the middle of both pedals. I've never tried it, but yeah. I guess I got used to heel toe.
