...damn... chill out.
I'm a mountian veteran and whole-heartedly agree with Ghost, not because I like him, but because he's right. I drive my hill not to be the fastest or beat up on other people but for the sheer pleasure of it. I've never made a run where I wasn't smiling uncontrollably - in fact I'm smiling just thinking about it
When I had my Turbo Wagon, there was nobody that could touch me - it was like I could create my own roller-coaster on the spot with that car. After it died, I kind of felt like I had lost that part of my life and in a way I did. Now that I have a CRX and am by my old hill for the summer I do feel like I've been reacquainted with a lost part of me and it is awesome.
Right now, even though my driving ability is more developed than it was even with the Legacy Turbo, I'm no faster with such a slow little car. Yeah, the suspension is far superior on this car than it was on the wagon, but everything is off-camber and unbalanced and such.
I also find that listening to the car can be better than any number of gauges. A trained ear can hear is an engine is running lean or rich, whether the timing is on, advance, *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*, if the engine is running hot, or even if there is brake fade. When I drive, I look only at the road and listen to the motor, suspension, brakes, and tires (who almost at full squeal the entire time). I don't even bother to look at my Gauges except for open straights, which is 2 times during my hill.
