Alright... So, Due to the poll. I believe everyone agrees that heel-toe braking is better used for drifting? (current score 8-0).

well i think it depends on the kind of drift you are doing. i picked left foot because thats how i do it when im doing high speed (65+ mph) brake drifts. i come into the corner full throttle and the while still on the gas i use my left foot to tap the brake, causeing the rear end to pitch out. i have found this only works at high speeds, and downhill is best. not a very showy drift, but very quick and effective. you lose hardly any speed at all, if not gain speed from it. if you are looking for show, then clutch kick or something that will cause the rear wheels to spin like mad. brake drifting is cool cause it works well, but doesnt look at as cool.

Instead of reading about heel toe or left foot brake, try doing it first. From what i've learned from practice, both can be used equally. Heel toe is not exactly used for drifting, its used to have a smooth transition while downshifting and braking into a corner or just to stop. Left foot can be used when down shifting isn't necessary just a quick change in line or quick braking. Sometimes into turns, I use a combined left foot heel toe to throw out the rear end while braking and not disturb my gas foot from its feathering motion, kinda a left foot brake clutch kick method. But thats just how I do it. Its all practice and preference. thats what I think.

yeah, i just evaluate the sitch and see what needs to be done to make it work right. i dont know, i dont really think about it until im done, then i realize what i do. like at school i just bust a slide at the end of the parking lot, then when i park, i realize that i feinted it or something like that. i just let it flow and see what happens......
