That's actually pretty cool. For a 14-year-old, you seem to know what you're talking about. At least you don't make crazy assumptions and things. By the time you reach my age, 19, you'll probably be a really good driver.
Hey thanks man, I'm still learning a lot though and no i don't make crazy assumptions I'd rather go and check out the facts online or just ask around.

Yet, I still have not experienced drifting myself...I would love to very soon though if not I'll steal my brothers S14 and do it myself!!!!!!! Then my brother would kill me for even thinking about stealing his car...hehe

My friend was into drifting b/c his dad was stationed in japan and he loved cars front "day 1" So his dad would send him Option Mags and I would look at them with him... and thats how it all began 4-5 years ago..

I'd have to agree with that. Plus, I happened to stumble across my RWD Celica for cheap and saw some friends from Portland drift so then I began to think about it more and more... and now I'm infatuated. I need to get hella more seat time (I spend all day and night looking "tips and tricks" up to go try) but I'm expecting the motor or differential to blow soon. Saving to drop in a new motor (hybrid) and fix what's wrong with everything else but until then I must wait for rain and read more. Why doesn't it rain during the damn SUMMER!!!!!!!!

i was actually not really into cars much, but one day is all it took to change that. i just went to my friends house to kik it and he was watching some drifting vids. as i was watching, it became more interesting. he told me about an anime dedicated to drift, which i already knew cuz i used to watch lotsa anime but never got around to watching. i went home and d/led all the eps and some drifting clips. i couldnt stop watching ID. to this day i still watch original battle stage about everyday cuz its just soo crazy. and now i am drift driven. i live to see, enjoy, and learn about drift/cars. i have learned a ton about cars just in the past couple months. stuff i sadly never knew.

I got into cars cause my dad and my uncle's are really into cars so eventually i got interested too but it was about 96 when i got sorta serious about learning about them tho. my bro has a 92 Eagle talon AWD and were tuning it right now . im about to get my permit in september so maybe my bro might let me use his car for autoX's.as for drift tho my dad used to have a E30 bmw a few year's back and he drifted that car all the time so the first time he showed me what drift was i was hooked.but for now im saving up $ so i can start Karting.

                            how i gots interested

I got into drifting the same way J_cham979 did.since im his twin bro it kinda came natualy. Jake (J_cham979) one day brought home the fast and furious DVD. Since we knew nothing about cars we would OOO and AAHHH over rims, underglow body kits,(yuck), and real ricy stickers. Well imediatly jake was suddenly interested in cars, i liked cars more but i wasnt obsessed with them like jake was. Jake later started buying car magazines and I took a look at them one day and was getting more and more interested in them. From day one i knew that drag was kinda boring to watch(and i also knew i wouldnt ever have the moola). Then i caught jake on an Initial D web site looking at drift techniques and how to preform drifts. Well i saw the basic idea of what drifting was and i was suddenly obsessed with drift. The idea that it was more of the driver than the car made me want to learn how to dift(cause u cant afford anything for your car in highschool). Now that leaves me up to today where i have drifted though one corner in my uncles 240sx. Scared me to death but i loved it. it wasnt a real drift like true drifters do but it was a small step that made me want to do it!
                            man i wrote alot!

Yes...(long pause)....The Fast and The Furious, no matter now lame and incorrect it was, got me into racing. Like Logan said, 1/4 mile is boring to watch and not much more fun to do, but drifting is always fun to watch and to do . Initial D was cool and i still love da manga, but still had its fictional points. but then again if it was all reality it would be boring. Logan and I(proper english that is ) are lucky to be import fans that being that we WAY out in da boonies, if it wasnt fo da TF&TF, sad but true. I would just be another GT Mustang driver with a chunky V8 racing ricers in the 1/4. And me being not the most popular kid in school(and not the richest ) drift racing is a way i could beat da preps, dew to the fact they cant drive and mustangs are not the best things to drift with. Still dont have a car though .

i also got hooked on drifting when watching intial d , and a couple other hong kong streetracing movies. mostly cus of the evo, that sparked my inteest in why i shouldnt be able to go sideways and rip tires to shreds. i practiced on my buddies 86 on deserted parking lots with some walmart cones, and have been hooked on mastering drift ever since.
