wow
props to u Nightwalker. Yeah I know what u talking about kids nowadays having no respect and lack of education, in terms of car performance.
I was in US since 94 to 2000. Had a fair share of cars there. The first car I got in 1995 was a MAZDA GTX B6, 1.6 turbo 4WD. Nobody know about the car and the guy sold to me for USD1000. He served in Japan before and bought the car back with him once transferred back to CA.
At this time, I've always been fascinated with MAZDA's B6 and B8 because they are very popular in Malaysia, especially MAZDA interplay. Got the car, did some minor adjustment, changed the belts, water pump, alternator and changed all the oils and it was ready for some serious action. I got a hold of a FMIC from a 1JZ Supra and installed it along with manual TRUST boost controller. The car already got Blitz blow-off valve installed. At this time, all my friends were driving CIVIC and then one guy just got a new, at that time, DC2 Type R.
One fine day, we were driving from Irvine heading to Redlands. On the way, the DC2 were tearing up the highway, that is until he made a mistake by revving and dropping gears while beside me. So, i drop from 5th to 3rd... and he's history. black smokes... flames... and the sight of a Type R chasing me about 15 cars behind!! hahahahaha... after that, no one dared to challege my B6. hehe...
well.. that's how i get into the performance scene. I've spent a lot of hours reading stuffs I don't truly understand... but then I'll ask those who do know and get the clearer picture of what's what. No need to be ricer to be a drifter or a racer. just be educated... know what's your car strength and what's others are driving.
for drifting, I just took it seriously about 2 years now. before that, all i know was how to powerslide. hehehe.. same as the BMW guy.
duluth, i thought I was the only one who remember that issue of SuperStreet, the one with SLIDESQUAD and the blue color S14 240Sx with SR20det on the cover, rite? Yeah, that got me excited and maybe that's where I really look into drifting. Initial D? I saw a Japanese MAX movie before initial D. It's the one with a dark purple R33 GTR going thru mountains doing 4 wheel drift!!! U guys should look for the DVD or VCD. They have 3 movies, all regarding skylines, R31, R32 and R33. I heard a new production is coming up with R34 in it. Oh, in the R32 and the R33 movie, tsuchiya also stars in it. He drifted the R32 and NSX on a circuit.
That's when i decide to get serious in drifting.

Sigh, well it was when i saw NOBs Silvia in superstreet. I fell in love with that car. So i started gettin into nissans and most of em are drifted and thats about all there is to that. Um, i always did donuts and powerslides and stuff. Drifting is like the "next level" of fun for me.

wel when i was about 11 or 12 or sumthin i saw fast and the furious and thot it was the most kick *Censored**Censored**Censored* movie ever.then i did a little reaearch on cars and *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* and got into the japanese side like jdm and all.then last summer i think i bought an initial d dvd thinking it was jsut street racing and it was drifting.and then i sorta just ignored it because i thot drag racing will be easery that drifting, boy was i a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*.after i got into initial d i started to actually get inot drifting it's self.i was still inot drag racing and all that *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*.but now that im 13 and have more common since to know that when you shift 7 times your not going 140(f&f)and also nos can eat my *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*,or my motor.but i guess i still sorta owe it all the the fast and the furious.becuase without it i wouldnt be doing this(wich is most likely the best for you guys)but now im anti drag racing and street racing sorta and i HATE RICED OUT CIVICS!!!IM GONNA START A GAME WERE YOU HAVE TO SEE HOW MANY ROCKS YOU CAN THROW AT A RICER UNTIL HE STOPS!

In gran tourismo and ridge racer you could choose grip or drift and i always choose drift before i knew what that was. i also used to read import tuner because because i was into show cars. Then one day they showed a 240 with a silvia conversion and something happened to me, i became obssesed with the silvia. As time went by i got into going fast but drag racing wasnt my thing. I kept looking up stuff on the silvia and naturally i came across drifting. Around the same time i was introduced to initial d. I started searching the net for vids and techniques. Then i realized i had been fient drifting for years in video games. So i felt brave and decided to go expirement with my e brake. So i go onto a s curve out in the backjroads by my house. I got side ways and countersteered into the next curve. It was the best thing i had ever expierenced untill i found out i completley ate through my rear brakes and had to pay $400 for a repairs. But it was to late drifting had me in its hold.

hey integratuner, me 2 including the fast & furious hate, except my first car is my dads hand me down civic. i dont like it but ill work with what i have. cant sell it because its paid in full. Also, Super Street started me on drifting 8 months ago. Bought gt3 after i lost it and found out about drifting. hung out with my street racing friend (owns 10 sec teg). and in 3 months, drift showoff is doing an even. i hope it rains and most likely it will cause may is rainy season for s fl! so many highschool guys down here with fart cans and whistles. but i respect civics after seeing a civic beat a viper (cheezefrog). dragging gets boring after awhile, but when i got my permit and getting behind the wheel for the first time, hitting 70 in a civic makes you feel invincible. it makes you wonder how any car can be made faster than this. also, rented initial d, and man was that stuff so real. btw, they had a honda CRX in the back round, wierd to see that thing drift huh?

this may be off but the only thing i read was nightwalkers thread you know your so right with the hole option sticker and cloths any ways i just wanna to say to the kids take some time out of your life and read and ask about the ish you dont know about such as cars instead of saying yeah nos in this turbo in that, did you know that a fat lonely guy probalywrote that hole ID thing and probaly had no freinds when he as little because he tried to be a show off and told every what he thinks cars were about. There was a 13tn yr old kid that came up to me and said could a civic beat a skyline...i looked at him and just was ready to slap the ishhhh out of i him ends up before i can pull my hand out of jacket the guy behind me does and that made me even more happy the fact that a guy behind had the same thing runin in his mind as well.god i hate little kids that try to act like there the best and know everything about cars, jdm ,driting, and drag racing, dont open your mouth if you have no idea of what your saying even if it sounds coolLast edited by spirit taro; 02-14-2004, 09:17 PM.

[B]. I'm glad you got yourself all the JDM $hit from Jspec, but you got rippped off. Their stuff is overpriced. Its ok if Initial D got you into drifting, but if you went about it in a sensible way, you wouldn't be offended by my post. The guys who are taking their time and learning from doing rather than from Stupid Street, and Initial D are not worried about little posts. You can have a right hand drive 180sx for all I care, you still can't drive. I've seen guys in California with nice quality rides, and when they open their mouths--> (RICE!) Just rich kids with a lot of parts and no skill; one of the reasons drifting may not blow up like drag racing.
I'm the guy drifting on the outside line aroung you! Thats who I am
Sounds like a takumi wanna be to me hahaha!!!

Wow.... i just read this entire thread....and im shocked at how many people got into drifting because of initial d. I dont know how long its been out in Japan but where im from that game has only been out for like 2 or 3 months.
I remember walking by the game and the people playing were gettin hyped and talking about they were going to try that in their cars.... 90% of em looked like they were kids still in high school.... I mean these kids, going out on public roads with no experience.... people die like that.
Im not tryin to put you down if thats how you got into drifting.... im just saying have some common sense.... If you normally drive regularly and at a safe speed.... dont think that when you're around your friends, that it would be cool to try that "drifting stuff" from Initial D. Guess what! Your not used to the speed or how a car moves in a real situation, you loose it and hopefully all you get is a damaged vehicle... This is reality, there is no "Insert Coins to Continue"
*phew*.... just hadda get that out there....

but serz kids these days are getting annoying, i can tell, coz most of them are my friends. im only 15, i can see the stupidity going on with ppl my age. but they probably didnt have the oportunities we have. I got into cars loong before i got into school. i always used to watch the f1 grand prix on t.v and i was hooked. by 12 i wanted to learn everything i could about cars, i went on the internet and did a hell of a lot of research, but ive still got lots to learn. wen i was about 13 i did a few amatuer go-kart races, but didnt continue (heh coz i aint rich). when fast and the furious came out, i went to watch it with my friends, they all seemed to love it, i was like. "wtf? how come every car had no2? double clutching? in an eclipse? is that necessary?" but alas its just a movie, watching a real race is more thrilling. i got into drifting itself through initial d (hate it as much as you want, initial d is as much a part of drifting as the d1). i hope to get my learners permit (we call it L's here in aus) next year, and i dont exactly want to try drifting till i learn how to properly control the car yet, so now im just in the learning stage of my drift legacy :P
