haha. i hope you got the reference(killers song).

man i wish i could throw down like that. but dang that would be expensive. i dont get anything for promoting. and theres so many drifters too. im sure theyll be "working" at some booth for their sponsors or theyll just show up cus its drifting. i mean lots of the formula d drifters were in the stands at nopi.

Maybe you should ask your superiors for permission to hook these guys up. It's going to be a huge distraction for D1 if these FD drivers are getting mobbed by hungry autograph seekers in the stands. This type of scene will further expose the D1 vs FD fued to the unassuming and uninformed fans. You wouldn't want that, do you?

Most competing entities always take a civil approach when dealing with competitors. Treat them as a guest of D1 and as an ally of drifting, because believe it or not, D1 and FD directly benefits drifting's advancement and exposure. This approach will demonstrate major professionalism. This can also set the tone for some type of united event in the upcoming future.

well giving free passes doesnt mean separating the drivers from the regular spectators. and at formula d the only separation they had was that they allowed some of the drivers to go to the judges stand but many of them just sit in with the crowd.

plus its not like these other drivers from formula d or whatnot are gonna show up in their racing suits and even then, the people that can recognize them without their racing suits most likely already have their autographs.

Hey guys, this is a baseless conversation. Hachi from what I gather is one of our better promoters but has nothing to do with who does or doesn't get into the event. In terms of drivers they are all welcome to contact us and we will accommodate them accordingly. We welcome all licensed non participating FD drivers to come see for themselves what we have going on.

Looking forward to an amazing event!

D1 drivers were at FD in Long Beach? Whaaat?

I'm not trying to say to hook them up with a FD VIP SUITE or anything like that. All I am trying to say is, it would show awesome professionalism on D1's behalf to acknowledge the FD drivers that are present at the event. It would actually benefit D1's event because it would indirectly imply that their event is so great that these guys from another sanctioning body came to check it out.

Just make 1 simple shout out to this effect: "D1 would like to welcome the Formula Drift drivers in attendance today." That's it...D1 diehards will probably "boo" the announcement but it will earn much respect for D1.

Now that's respectable, in typical Ali fashion.

Was Hachi the one putting D1 flyers on cars at the FD event in Long Beach? lol

what's the difference between "super 16 challenge" and "super 16 tandem" ?

also, i'm confused on group A/B/C/D on Friday and Saturday. If I want to watch J drivers, which group should I pay attention to? If i want to watch my friends who are driving as privateers, which group are they in?

none of this makes any sense.

You Ready? May 2nd! Coming UP!

But for now here's the answer to your Super 16 Challenge...

During the “SUPER16” practice any competitor may challenge the top driver for his 1st place position, which includes the prize money of $1,000 and 1 additional point towards the Championship Points Series.

In other words, this will not change the points per event, but may make a difference towards the D1GP USA Championship Points Series standings. In order to invoke an attack session, the driver must notify the D1 Official Starter who will notify the judges of an Attack on 1st place position. The judges will delete the current score/position of the challenging driver giving him the opportunity to advance higher in the field with the ultimate goal of taking the 1st place position.

If the driver crashes or fails to score above the current 17th position, the driver is automatically eliminated from the competition. This means the driver who was placed in 17th position has now moved into the “SUPER16” competition and back into the D1 Grand Prix USA Championship Points Series.

It is important to note that the challenging driver may score lower than his original points and this will move him down in order or he may score higher moving him up in position. In any case a complete re-shuffling of the competition order takes place based on the challenging drivers’ scores.

During the allotted practice time, any driver may challenge at any time.

was this explained previously? in a press release or otherwise? or were people just supposed to guess about this?

It's been on the website in the competition format section for well over a month now. Thanks for asking though, we'll try to answer everyone's questions leading up to the event or at least point them in the right direction.
