Formula DRIFT Returns to Road Atlanta Home of the Inaugural Formula DRIFT Event Back in 2004

Road Atlanta opened in 1970 and was home of the inaugural Formula DRIFT event back in 2004. The 2.54-mile, 12-turn track is owned by Panoz Motorsports and hosts many events throughout the year including Formula DRIFT.

Utilizing Turns 9, 10A, and 10B of the road course, cars slide sideways through the turns and then hit the loop before the Suzuki bridge and back towards Turns 10B, 10A, and then ends dramatically by drifting uphill on an incline.

With a 1st place at this season’s opener at Round 1: Streets of Long Beach, Ryan Tuerck has jumped ahead of the competition. Last year Tuerck finished in 3rd place, will he be able to keep his podium street going? Last season’s winner was Rhys Millen coming off a missed Round 1 event to take home the victory and ultimately finished the Formula DRIFT season in 3rd place overall and cemented his legacy by winning the Drifting World Championship. This is also the first event of the Tires.com Triple Crown bonus award.

Round 2: Proving Ground at Road Atlanta will be on of the most anticipated events of the season. The event will be spread between 2 days of drifting action and new for 2009 a Top 32 head-to-head competition format. Drivers are tested on the fast entry and tight turns of the road course and will have to prove that they have what it takes to reach the podium.

Is there going to be a live feed from the ATL? There has been in the past. I like to work in the garage while I watch the event...

it would be great if the live feeds were stored on a server

            Ex.
"Qik.com, a Silicon Valley startup that lets users stream live video directly from their video-enabled phones onto the Web. Qik isn't the only new program that can turn your mobile phone into a pocket-size television station. Kyte.tv and Flixwagon also recently opened to the public, for free. (And last week Flixwagon even began offering an application for unlocked iPhones.) All three services let you embed a video player on your own site, so you can stream from your homepage. Once your live broadcast is done, the video is stored on their servers, making them easy to replay or even edit."

just figured out who you are..

you entered the contest over the phone, that is why you did not get a PM confirmation

you are on the list, but if you have trouble then call the number that you texted
