        dad's Mercedes CL500, I still to this day can't believe I did it. Almost wrecked it. If that happened I probably wouldn't be here posting this right now

          i would say go with the fiero.... there are soooo many kit cars that are based off the fiero... you could have a cool fiero powered kit car mclaren or enzo or cobra....

              Yeah but they are MR with AWS. Not much accord left in that car.

                1. Forget the Accord, it's FF which isn't good for drifting.
                2.As for the Astro Van with the big motor in the back that would require some intense fabrication. I don't think anybody makes performance suspension parts for the Astro, and you'll need those for drifting. Finally it would take some design work to figure out exactly where to locate the engine so the van isn't squirrely and hard to control.
                3. The Fiero wouldn't be a bad choice, except for you will definitely need to brace the chassis and put in a safety cage. I don't think the chassis are very strong from the factory. Also the Fiero is MR which is harder to drift, it can be done but it will be a much steeper and more dangerous learning curve than an FR. Grassroots Motorsports Magazine has an article about Fieros and drifting that you may want to pick up.

                Pretty much the ideal drift car is a light FR like a 240sx or an AE86, because they're known quantites and people know what it takes to safely drift them. Unfortunately they've increased in price. You may take a look at an 87-93 5.0 Mustang or a 2nd Gen Firebird or Camaro like CrazyHawaiins. DO NOT DRIFT THE FOX MUSTANGS without proper suspension mods. You'll need to get rid of the stock control arms which create snap oversteer. The F-Bodies have a torque arm which provides better control.

                Most importantly don't drift on public roads and wear your seatbelt. Stay safe so you'll still be here to enjoy the sport!!

                    thanks for everyones input on my first car, i guess i just have to choose now between the 300zx and the fiero, mainly because i wanna drift something that isnt necisarily(sp?) easy to drift

                    i'm gonna move this topic to another board though so we dont get in the way of the strangest drift car

                        You can drift a fiero easily... i get mine op lock outta school almost everyday. the 2.8 is a pretty good motor even though eveyrone thinks it sucks... everyone will tell you that if you wanna drift car dont go with a fiero but i disagree... its just like the MR2 and has the same lift and spin problem because of the way the rear suspension was designed... but if you do start to drift it would be nice to get to Held Coil overs and upgrade a bit of stuff.... stock they drive a bit funny because you cna understeer REALLY easy... you cant hold EXTREME angles in a MR like you can in a FR because all the weight is in the rear and once it comes around to a certain point which is only about 40* you have to just let it go... today i pulled about a 30-35* slide outta the school and when it caught it JERKED really hard which sent me back in the other direction a bit but since ive been toying with this thing for a little over a year its ok... just remember that if you start to play with MR DO NOT LIFT IN A CORNER if your going fast... they WILL oversteer unless you have horrible front tires... mine does it... my firends turbo mr2 does it and my other friends 92 NSX does it. oh and if you want some more info on the fiero go here.... www.fieor.nl
                        great website that i use a lot for information. you can swap a 3800sc in for under 4k and probably under 3k if you do it yourself....

                                heh I started up my bike drifting again, now I try for one handed drifts so I can grab like coke cans set down on the inside of the corner. It is funny as hell to see people reactions when I lean that far down in a skid. I need to get some new pics up...
