  • D1GP (FEEDBACK)

I am disappointed with todays event. First of all I thought there would be more cars than the about 30 that competed. I think their was only 3 american drivers. The whole event seemed like it was rushed in my opinion. Some might disagree but thats just my view.

Another thing that really pissed me the F*ck off is when KAZAMA and MILLEN battled. Millen clearly one that fair and square making Kazama lose his line, and speed and nearly overtook him. Kazama didnt even do his usually long drift in the first long left bank turn. I thought Millen won and so did a lot of people in the crowd, but thanks to the "ONE MORE TIME" idiots I think his victory was taken away by giving Kazama another chance(and even in the second battle he was pressured and almost overtaken again by Millen).

This leads me to believe that something is wrong with D1. Imagine an American winning the D1 event beating the powerhouses of Japan. Hmmmmm, crazy how Taniguchi and was knocked out pretty quickly and only Kazama was left. If Millen would have won I think he would have gone and possible won the event in an unprecedented victory.

AND WHO THE HELL HIRED THAT DUMBASS "HIP HOPPITY DJ ENTERTAINMENT GUY"????? YO THIS YO THAT! YO READY!! FO SHOOO!! Stupid. I think the D1 in Feb 04 was a Million times better than todays. Thank you for your time. I need to vent.

A job well done to all you American Drifters and Japanese Drifters. Oh yeah and to you ALEX PFIEFFER, Great Job bro, you really won. And Rhys Millen got robbed at JGTC too!

Alot of people felt this way about Millen and Immaura during the GT Live event.

a US driver will never win a d1 event, deal with it. Well maybe after keiichi dies in 90 years

well i thought kazama clearly beat millen. Rhys seemed like he was fixated on passing kazama, while Kazama was executing long sweeping drifts on the left bank and pleasing the crowd. Rhys did overtake him, but Kazama took the lead back anyway.

Millen's high speed, extreme angle drifts were VERY impressive during his first couple runs, but i think Kazama was simply better. anyway, it was a close match and i fully enjoyed it. Millen is a great drifter and i hope go to see him in future events.

Before that run, i took a pic with Kazama eating lunch. I really didn't want to bother him while eating, but i told him "Kazama! number one!" and he said thank you... and he looked like he was thinking "what is this?" when he posed with me for the camera. (like and combined).

You guys are lucky enough that u atleast got to go, i dont care what happened if i had the chance to go to the D1 i would have nothing to complain about, even if the weather was 105 degrees and i had to pay 10 dollars for a hot dog, atleast i could say i saw the best drifting and cars in this beautiful world... East coast sucks

                    ROFLMAO!!!

Keep in mind Millen learned how to drift in Osaka (or was it Okinawa) when he was very young, as did Gushi

So i guess until teens start crashing off mountains (seriously wear your seat belts and don't do this) on a day to day basis, we're probably not gonna see a pure US champ for some time

Well, I thought the event kicked!!!! Oh and about the Rhys and Kazama battle: I video taped it, and after watching it, I think Rhys won the first 2 battles, then after the "one more time" it was a tie on the first battle and Kazama won the second battle.

Millen learned how to drift in his rally career.

I think ppl are too wrapped up in the "Champ" thing.
The Americans have the FD to look forward too.
In a whole I think the D1 is trying to protect its interest and there is nothing really wrong with that.
They gave out some new licenses to some Americans this week and that's cool.
I give them props for bringing the show here and exposing the best drivers in the world.
Event's and leagues are always controversial.
                          Look at Baseball, Basketball ECT..
I think they should of let jr have his moment today though, he spent alot of time and prepping for this and to get to the top 30 this week. To to get cut shot down was kind of weaksause. I mean, just give the guy 3 more minutes..let him prove himelf.

                            HAHAHAHAHA

Since when did Millen live in Japan? Millen is an ex-rally racer from New Zealand.....I think you are talking about Ernie Fixmer or the Rotary Power FD Driver (dont recall his name). And Gushi never learned to drift in Japan either....he was just born there.

Let's look at how things broke down, between saturday and sunday...

20+ drivers in the drivers search - only 4 got their liscenses.

50 or so drivers in qualifying, including 20 americans and 30 or so Japanese. From there, 20 got into the Sunday matchup (only 3 Americans... Vaughn, Alex, and Rhys)

Those 3 were part of the 30 who drove in today's round 1. From that round, only 16 made it on into the round of 16. That included Millen.

To my understanding, it didn't matter how much time Vaughn took to fix the hose clamp - he didn't make a full pass under power. It's just like in Drag Racing. If you miss your "call", and can't make a pass, then you're out. Regardless of if it's a 2 second or 2 hour fix. Sucks he couldn't drive in front of the crowd... but that's the way things go...

I stopped watching after the Quarters. Went and hung out with friends in the pits. Even though I had a photo pass, I've never actually watched the finals from the photo area. Always gone and enjoyed the semi's and finals with my friends in the stands.

D1 is cool, but if you get too caught up in the competition and crap, it's no fun.

Remember, Ueo is no longer competing, alegedly because of Politics.
