Woohoo.... And, No! Most pro drifters did not become interested in the sport because of NFSU. That all came after the fact. Looks like another one missed their mark. How long do you all think it'll last? I say about 5 epsiodes.

Although the trailer makes it look like another ordinary import show, G4 Tech TV did make a big committment to Formula D to cover all the events this year. The sport of drifting is going to be well publicized and legitimized with their coverage. So give G4 Tech TV and Formula D some props!!!!!

Despite the intention, I really hope the show would be produced properly to capture what drifting really is. G4 should try to steer away from what had been done on other programs covering drifting. What I have seen on the other shows was that they never show the drift runs in their entirety, cutting in and out, and dubbed it with music, taking away the true music of engine roar and tire screech.

I am sure that has a lot to do with the taste of the general audience since not everybody enjoy the music of engines and tire screech. But an import show produced just like the other is stale. I would say the program should adopt a clear focus to legitimize drifting as a motorsport.

I mean, seriously. I watch Horsepower TV and Trucks! avidly. Why doesn't the import world have anything like that?

Dear god, and who gives a flying f*ck about "fans and culture" in EVENT COVERAGE. This is supposed to be a legitimate motorsport, assclowns. Treat it like one.

Jeezus, give me $500, three good historical references on drifting, a driver roster, and a bottle of port and I can get Jack Arute, Dr. Jerry Punch, and Bob Jenkins to cover drifting RIGHT.

Exactly what octagon said. If drifting isn't going to be covered in a positive and mature way, I'd much rather it not be covered at all. (Like that's gonna happen.)

First mistake is they'll introduce drifting by saying something like "It may not be the fastest way blah blah blah around a corner, but it is the coolest", as if it helps to highlight that it is not a practical race maneuver and that their eyes cannot decide what�s cool.

There is hope...

The commercial was for the programming block as a whole, so it doesn't really tell you how the Formula D show is going to be. If anything, Formula D TV might be "the best of everything" which leaves Street Fury to have the "worst parts." You know, different shows for different purposes.

id like to see you name one, that would be a stunt. and one that is any good not just some chump who paid his $$ to be in FD. NFSU was just another corporate plot to cash in on drifting and the import scene waaaaaaay late, "the next big thing". its also a shitty driving game, a far stretch from the previous NFS games.

nope, id like one too but....

90% of the import community cant even install their own CAI how can you tell them how to set a camshaft or install a clutch? that and i can already do what most of the fake mechanic/hosts want to show.

Formula Drift is being elevated to a whole new level this year with G4

wrong again. its actually the other way around. FD was already successful without the "help" of some horrible over riced TV show. come on Ryan, you can do batter than that, take some control of this crap. I watched the NFSU release party show or whatever it was and lets say GARBAGE. considering that the focus was the drifting, there sure wasnt enough of it. the only highlight was being able to see the normal guys that ive always known to be great drifters

not a chance. youve been around long enough to know that anytime this stuff makes it to the airwaves it turns out more garage than substance. anyone seen NOPI TUNER TV?

if all you guys (meaning the media covering our sport) want to see is girls in small bikinis and that crap youre in the wrong business, there is already such thing as the fashion industry and we car guys choose not to be interested in that for a reason. if i want to see girls, ill buy a porn mag and see the whole thing. looks like whoever is running the TV show needs to open a position for someone who has half a clue about drifting, racing and the "scene" because there is free girls and other crap everywhere, offer me something like motorsports, hell it worked for NASCAR, you wont see 25 min of the car show parking lot out of a 30 minute NASCAR show. get a clue!!1
