      News!

The car may have been spotted getting off the 405 near Long Beach City Center (but it had no graphics on it).

It may have also been spotted in the San Fernando Valley:

i heard from a post your car was stolen and I had seen it recently
going south on De Soto Ave, past Vanowen. I'm not sure if it was your
car, however, I'm guessing the green woman decal is unique, and that
was definately on a white 180sx, with DriftDay stickers on the rear
side window. I saw a brown hispanic man driving it, and after i could
take a better look it past me.

i remember the time it was sunset, however i don't remember the day,
sorry i can't remember. I know it was either from Sunday to Tuesday
for sure, and i believe it got stolen by then so I hope this helps..

Unfortunately...Long Beach is not good news.

I remember when I was looking for parts...my best friend and I drove around the Carson and Long Beach areas for pick-a-part type places. Low and behold, we came across a junkyard that had nothing BUT parts that were in excellent condition and off of new/recent vehicles. New door panels, headlight assemblies, bumpers, etc.

It was pretty obvious to me that this place was a CHOP SHOP or affiliated w/ a chop shop. That is the only way they were able to stock so many "new" parts.

Please keep us informed of any new developments.

Hey Jack, it was taken from Hawthorne and Del Amo if i remember correct. Taken from a shopping plaza in broad daylight on a busy day. Very strange.

Today I got a call @ 2pm from the LAPD. The car was found in a really shady area in Watts and then impounded.

                graphics ripped off.

they stole my Apex'i N1 dual exhaust, but they were nice enough to replace it with THIS nifty one!!

took my 180sx rear panel, and my stock lights.

replaced (?) my white fender with a black one (in good shape)

I figured they felt sorry for me because I had a slight crack in my C-west bumper, so they replaced it with an almost new stock bumper and removed the rest of my body kit as well.

Took my Tanabe coilovers, but replaced them with shocks and springs... held on by lug nuts... poor car wobbled all over the place.

So the @$$holes basically took anything that looked pretty. The Tanabe coilovers, C-west body kit, Apex'i exhaust, Battle Version tension rods, Kei Office wheels... and my box of fluids along with other personal items. Total aesthetic damage maybe about 5-6k =( The car doesn't run well either. They didn't bother with the JWT ECU, SOHC motor, Kaaz 2-way lsd, Tanabe sway bars, or RPS clutch. These were true ricers. Ugh.

Thank you everyone for your help! I appreciate it a lot. I'm lucky by car got stolen by idiots. I'm relieved...

Here is the part that I find weird.

Given the vehicle has no taillights and ran as poorly as it does now...how was it DRIVEN to the location where it was found? Was it towed there? The reason I ask, is because a friend of mine...had a nice RX-7 a couple of years back. And to make a long story short,...it was stripped to a similar if not worse condition and yet still managed to end up on the street. And if cars are driven or towed and dumped at locations, you would imagine people in the neighborhood would notice. Maybe a tow truck company is involved w/ stealing cars? (Then again, this is Watts...where lots of people either hate the police or they are scared of gangs).

that really sucks what happened to your car,i feel for you.Now about towing companies, actually a lot of drivers are involved in stealing cars, there are actually towing companies who are ONLY stealing cars.Basically if you got a tow car company ,you can steal cars "legally".Its not that suspicious if a tow truck comes to tow the car away, right? Well,i wouldnt be surprised if your car was"towed".....

they wrre probaly making it look stock so they could sell the whole car without getting noticed a stock white 240sx would sell fast at a cheap price...modified or what not and pronounced stolen, it would catch the eyes of all and probaly get the person caught...

Be careful what you guys say; Insulting the thiefs and what not. They read these boards too. Who's to say they aren't waiting till she replaces everything so they can steal the right stuff next time? Just be mindfull and spend $15 on a cutoff switch of some sort. I'll do the same when I install the thousand dollar parts sitting in my room. Think about it.
