Anyway people are getting to caught up in whats a knock off of what. Drifting isn't a car show. Dont get me wrong..I think drift cars should be cool looking enough to be drifted on saturday and entered into a car show on sunday..but the fact of the matter is that at its core, drifting is an performance sport ..its all about doing what works.
Besides its not like there are a lot of choices out there for drift cars...its got to the point where people are taking AWD and hacking them up to make them RWD ..to all of those who challenge creativity and originality that fact right there should say something to you. Anway there are some platforms that are out now that haven't even been fully utilized.
Im pretty sure someone could build a really good competitve RX-8, there are RX-8's out there but no one has really worked the bugs out of one enough to make it a first place potential car in D1 or Formula D.
The same could be said for the Z so far the only ones who have built good Z cars are Chris and ORC (Miki Ryuji) and neither one of them did it with the freakin VQ motor...which just means there is a whole other area on that car that hasn't been conquered yet.
Chris' new Z...looks like a mentally retarded transformer that forgot how to change back into a robot (no offense chris I love you! but Im just not a fan of that BRS kit) but you think he cares? no! hes like "hey..Im gonna put a F**kin' V8 in my Z and kick everyone's A$$ ..Im rick james!" and I say good for him!
If you can find a good platform that works..then go for it! who cares if someone else tried it already..unless they failed miserably then one shouldn't be too concerned with who did what...unless Ryan and Jim decide to make "show quality" part of the judging criteria for the 06 season
THANK YOU- THERE IS INTELLIGENT LIFE OUT THERE!!!!!!
I talked to the guy from Kingping and he says that the driveline will be a Subaru transmission and differential from another manufacturer (although I will not say which pieces, that is up to them).
My BG6 Legacy Wagon is RWD and I'm in the process of putting an R200 in the rear.
RWD Subarus have incredible weight balance and preditcability, but the AWD limits steering angle and their transmissions and differentials need upgrading.

I look forward to seeing it in action for sure.
Not sure what kumakubo did but his wrx has massive amounts of angle people are saying more than his s15 did might want to look into that car see if there are some tricks there for more angle. But looking at the spec sheet for that car it might be a grip ($$$) for more angle since everything on that car is big $.

i think he has a different steering rack, from an FF subaru i believe, there is probably some other stuff too.
i thought all subarus were AWD (out of the factory), so wouldnt that mean theres no such thing as an FF subie.....plus dont FF steering racks usually have less steering angle...

Im not sure exactly, but alotta the legwork kuma's subie has on it came off of Nissan's GT-R(32) i think*driveshaft, diff....dunno bout the rest*

all subarus now are AWD, alot of old models say 80's-early 90's were fwd. I had a 1992 legacy wagon that was fwd, it was piece of crap.
they were there from what i remember?! projuct mu's
I never saw the calipers. I thought they were trying a new ultrlightweight version, trying to outdo the upcoming Braille brakes!
Regading the RWD Legacy Wagon - SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
I like the pic from Ocala. It looks like I missed something at the last drifting event there after all!
