i took off my helmet on track which is a no no for obvious reasons as stated above.

honestly looking back i was more worried about the car than myself which is why i thought i heard fire and saw smoke i took off my helmet to double check then drove to the corner station with no helmet/harness on and jumped out. just didnt really think i guess and got dq'ed, which is understandable.

Well, I dont know the situation so you probably know better than me. But as a driver that has had my own engine fire at an event, lemme tell you, its not easy to just get out of the car and wait for some fire crew to come take care of it. Especially if its an underhood fire and the fire crew dosn't know a fire is happening right away. I guess it all depends on the situation.
