  • My new Drift ride - Mitsubishi EVO2 RWD

    After a lot o troubles & fine/bad words said...
    A lot of other problems etc etc

    I can finally present you my new Driftcar.


    This new project i will try to show people that it is possible to get through a big deal even for the little people :-)

    Car: Mitsubishi EVOLUTION II 1994

    Motor:
    4G63T 2L TwinCam Turbo

    Wiseco overbore pistons 8:1
    Wiseco pistonrings
    Eagle conrods

    ARP bolt for bottom end
    Clevite race crankbearings

    here below is what i intend to try and get done until the season starts.


    Exhaust:

    DNP turbo manifold with Tial50mm wastegate.
    3" downpipe, 3" split into dual FIA certifyed KAT´s,
    into 3" pipe into muffler with 6" outlet made from stainless steel.


    Watercooling:

    Aluminium radiator 30% bigger than stock fitted in the trunk.
    stock waterpump with small xtra electric helppump.
    28mm copper lines for water.
    2 small fan that sucks cold air from intakes in the rear doors to the
    radiator. 2 SPAL fan fitted to the radiator. pushing the warm air out through
    a hole in the body behind the numberplate.


    Intakecooling:

    FMIC 600x400x100mm with 3" fittings.
    Watercooled intecooler next to the throttlebody.
    Cold water radiator from a moped & icetank fitted.
    waterpump from Celica All-Track, HKS dumpvalve.


    Oilcooling:

    20 row oilcooler with 4" fan.


    fuelsystem:

    D2 RacingSport 30L fuelcell. 3pcs Henko Racing fuelpumps,
    Volvo 740T fuelfilter, 12mm fuellines. 8mm return.
    1Litre fuelcatchtank.


    Transmission:

    Mitsubishi stock gearbox & diffs - Welded centerdiff & remowed front driveshafts. This give sthe car 100% rwd. Clutch Masters race twinplate clutch, lightened flywheel.

    Front: D2 RacingSport Bigbrake kit 356mm 8-pot
    rear: stock for now - later Brembo 4-pots
    D2 RacingSport Hydraulic handbrake
    steelbraided lines

    Specs are nice and all, but pics would be much better. Even if in the beginning stages.

      Sounds cool. Evo's are a cool car so a rwd drift car shud be sweet. we have a 95 sti rwd over here in Dublin but the rear diffs are crud and lack of steering lock would make it a decent allround track car.

            Damn!! That thing is WILD!

            Don't see any one drifting an EVO
            in Japan..lots of WRX's changed to
            FR though.
            Good luck with the project. Love EVO's....

              Thanxs man - Merry christmas & a happy new year to you over there in Japan.

              The gearbox is very strong indeed i can cope withy almost 1000 bhp stock internals.... so with 5-600 i´m kinda on the safe side here :-)

                Today i took the help of a close friend to remove all the asphaltmats on the floorpans & in the trunk - a total of abou 25kgs.
                Also we remowd the ABS-thingy... & the rear wipermotor & wiper + the electric antenna. - Also a lot od brake-piping since i´m gonna usa an hydraulic handbrake, i will not be able to, anyway, use the ABS & i weighted a fair deal too.
