  • (THIS SATURDAY) FORMULA D Seattle (Predictions/Countdown)

Some of you have been pretty good with predictions this year.... Who's up?

  • #2
Longer wheel base cars will dominate...

    in no particular order

    Chris Forsberg
    Kenji Yamanaka
    D-mac
    JR
    Millen

Even though the charger has a long wheel base to kill the big bank, I feel its too slow to really hang with the light cars on the track

I don't think that's very true. The important part was the transition right before the finish... the J drivers dominated last year (okubo / Seigo 1/2), but also Dai / Tyler McQuarrie in the RS*R S2k / Haraguchi were KILLING it in practice. All 3 had mechanical problems that hurt them in qualifying, but they looked to be on top of their game.

last year, Rhys / Sam / Tanner all got knocked out early. JR was doing good til he broke a driveshaft. Taka was number 1 qualifier, but lost in the first round.

I really think that D-Mac is going to do good at this event - short wheel base which is good for the transitions, and he has the power to carry that bank well. Casper Canul is hungry for a big finish, don't count him out of it. Dai's pretty happy in the S15, I think he'll do well, and Kenji will be back in the JIC S15, expect him to make a big impact. Actually, now that i think about it, the Solstice may be perfectly suited for this track.

i would love to see ben schwarts make the top 16 and with a short wheel base of the sky and the big power of the V8 this is the place to break in.
            and podium:
            Taner
            Rhys
            Dai
            Somewhere in the order

Either way, whomever gets to the podium, you know its going to be a battle right from the first run of qualifying. All I know is the weather is looking great so bring your sunscreen or just bring some cash to buy a FD cap.

I'm hoping chris wins it because he's closest to the points lead but I wouldn't mind any DA member or JustDrift driver taking the win.

Do you have anything to substantiate that rumor?

Basically what you are saying is that Sears is pulling the Ben Schwartz Saturn Sky from competition this season.

If that is not the case, then you need to be a bit more careful with what you say on a broadly visited public forum, especially considering your role as an official in a competing series.

Just to be clear, speculation on Internet is fine, but you need to respect that fact that you are speaking from a position of authority and could give people a wrong/damaging impression if you do not use care.

Yup. But I can't go into details in public... I'm sure you know how it goes

I really liked the sky, and thought it showed a lot of potential in Atlanta. Rhys is showing that the chassis can be made competitive, so I'm sure we'll see an influx of them in the coming years.

Trust me, I'd love to see the car come back!

Shwartz is on the drivers list for Seattle (http://www.drifting.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23419) so from what I hear he'll be back, just not in the Saturn.

                            drifting is so retarded.

I like getting to work and laughing at this crap.
