(TODAY) RED BULL Drifting World Championship LONG BEACH Nov 15-16
I just hope it's a course that the low powered corollas aren't at a huge disadvantage.
Yes, that certainly is a concern we will address
Quick question. By the way you describe it, will this course have a higher entry speed than Sonoma?
Definitely. Doing the math, 1200 feet is a tad short of a 1/4 mile so I think the drivers can calculate their speed based on that once they take into account set up. This course is not intended to be like Sonoma in the sense that Sonoma can tend to be an straight line into e/brake/minor feint, etc. That would be lame for this. We want a smooth fast entry where high HP cars can initiate early and lower HP a bit later and still hold speed and angle for the head to heads.
Guys, alas, this is true. We confirmed it with his team. Daigo will not be competing. He will be at the event but not competing.
I'm not going to say much more than that.
Jim made a call to Robbie Bolger who is the 2007 Australian Champ. This guy is so committed he said he would 100% commit and will probably be air freighting his car here. Unreal, so expensive. Either way he said he'll be here so he will be our 32nd driver.
We are very, very sad Daigo could not make it, lets leave it at that. All this stuff gets tiring after a while.

congrads to Robbie,
this event is going to be great! thanks FD
too many irishmen in long beach at once... I hope the bars have a back-stock of Guiness ready!
Bolger + O'Sullivan + Deane (wait! deane's only 16, he don't count... but I'm sure his brothers are coming) + Buttsy + Dan Joyce + entourage = way too many Irish in 1 city at 1 time for the local bar population to sustain
