RMR Hyundai Genesis Coupe starts season with Nissan VQ35
I don't know what that engine is in the photo, but if it's a Nissan engine, that is the dumbest *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*ing thing ever.
Al, shut the *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* up.
If it isn't a Hyundai engine in a Hyundai sponsored car, then it's stupid.
end of story.
I'm all down for mix matched motors and chassis,(especaily when add a motor from a different manufactur works better than its intended motor) but i think i'm with Brian on this one. If Hyundia is sponsoring the car, i think it should have a Hyundia engine. Mainly because this could really backfire for Hyundia. As of right now, the message is "A Hyundia motor is not capable of competing". Don't get me wrong. If anyone can get this chassis/engine combo to work, its Millen. But if the Hyundia motor doesn't out perform the VQ, then thats really going to hurt Hyundia's image. I'm sure RMR won't be building an kind of VQ monster, but its going to be hard to get an engine that has preety much no aftermarket support to outperform an engine like the VQ.
"Millen told us that when it became obvious to the RMR crew that the new Lambda V6 wouldn't be ready in time, they opted for Plan B. Instead of delaying the launch of the car, the decision was made to proceed with a different engine until the Lambda was ready. The closest thing they could find in terms of size was a Nissan VQ35."
"Millen said that the crew is working full speed to get the Lambda engine ready and expects to have it in the car within the next two to three events."
"Trainor told Autoblog that Hyundai is happy to be working with Millen's team and given the short time frame and limited budget for the program, the decision to launch the car with the Nissan engine was totally understandable. Trainor took some of the responsibility for the delay, as a result of pulling Millen away from his race shop to participate in launch events for the road car."
"We look forward to Rhys getting the Hyundai powerplant in the car, Trainor told us, "we're excited to be running the full drift season, and we're happy we've got one of the top drivers campaigning the new Genesis Coupe.
Hey guys, they only ran the Nissan VQ because the Hyundai powerplant wasn't ready. Maybe Hyundai plans to make the Nissan VQ35 an option on the Genesis. lol
ALL this anger of the fact that hyundai didnt put there own engine in it.....did any of you even know the genisis comes with a RWD MITSUBISHI EVO motor?
