lol i mentioned this a few years back

D1 judging criteria does not give points... its takes away. You start off with 100 and they subtract from every single mistake. Some drivers make very little mistakes and unlike here in the states they seriously take into consideration of chassis setup. They never take away from someones score based on something the chassis just cannot do.

I think the all star match on sunday will not be so anal.

When D1 comes to the states, it's not uncommon to see 1/3 of the top 16 with 100 points, and a 99.5 is the cutoff to get into the top 16.

When scores are this close, ANY Deduction can remove a driver from competition. Meaning, if the judges don't like your hair and give you a half point deduction that day, you're out.

With FD, I feel like the magnifying glass is held much tighter to every single run, and every single correction or adjustment is noted and accounted for in the score. That's why we've only seen 1 or 2 perfect 100 qualifying score in 6 years of FD.

yea if all your guys are getting .3 and .05 deductions, its time to step up how much things can cost you. i guess it looks nice to the crowd to see sooooo many 'almost perfect' scores, but i dunno, makes it seem really easier to pick and choose who moves on and who they will face. you can ALWAYS justify a .2 deduction (to cover why who beat who), but a 5 point one... not so easy.

I grew up on D1 so I'm kinda used to it.

Qual is not really where they pick and choose who they want to see, that really comes down to tandem. You will never see a unsponsored guy like mike powers place higher then like 10th lol.
