EVERY car having a v8 IS lame.
Remember when EVERY car had an SR and it was lame?
Name one car keeping the 4 or 6 cylinder for next year, besides possibly Gushi. Nobody is doing anything different anymore. This is drifting, someone build something retarded, that works, please.
Also for wiegh-in, its really no big deal to carry a set of scales in the truck. Longacre makes a pretty simple setup that comes in a rolling cabinet that would make random inspections easy.
I am curious however as to how the tire measurement will be done, have y'all figured out which way y'all are gonna measure?
Will there be a way to purchase the measurement device like there was with the tirometer(sp?) so you can make sure your car is 100% legal when you're testing it before you show up?
Again, kudos for this rule, I think it will help some of the mid-pack guys keep up with the guys who have worked their way up to the big time operations.Last edited by Mike Peters; 11-17-2010, 01:50 AM.

Well, it's just the rallycross cars that RallyCar does it with. It's a U-shaped template that measures 10" across at the opening. The tire, wheel, or both must pass through that template or you can't use that combination of tire and wheel. It's no more difficult than that and it's something a team can replicate.
And, I probably should have clarified that I'm finding out more for the "article," (in quotation because, well, I'm the one writing and I'm not really a publisher, I guess) as this is going to be one of the issues that I'll be writing about. It's another writing project like I did with "FD and It's Future, In My View" that I posted on the forum here.

Beats race gas prices!
If I could find a practical way to do it, I'd love to convert the S12 to a diesel engine. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd buy the kit that has an adapter plate and flywheel to use a VW TDI 4 cylinder and a Toyota pickup 5-speed transmission. The kit I saw retails for $595.00 for a basic kit from ACME Adapters (adapter plate, flywheel, and "bolting hardware kit").
