Umm.... actually the 1984-87 RWD Corolla GTS in the USA says AE88 on the vin#. So yes an AE88 will be rear wheel drive. I own one so I should know.

i say jut upgrade the exaust, suspention, and ecu. Thats all i did and it is awsome.

why waste your time. you said a S14 is too expensive. hell just buy a evo or an STI. you could buy a RX7,supra, celica supra. what about the max amount of boost? probably whatever you feel like setting it as and then obviously that will cut down on the life. but whatever im not the one looking for a corolla when i have 15-20Gs.
