I read interviews from both drivers and i guess michael and montoya were both burning out to get some temp in the rears, then michael hit the brakes while montoya was still accelerating. So montoya didnt react fast enough and rammed into the back of the ferarri. Theres no way montoya would just pass shumacher on purpose while the safety car was out, doesnt really make any sense.
