i don't like SS because there isn't enough technical info, like people have already said, if i want pics of cars from japan, i'll go to japanese websites, i read magazines for all the things that have been done to the car to improve the performance. it isn't the riciest though, there are many worse magazines, the worst by far though, is performance auto and sound. that is a horribly ricey magazine. ok, now onto my opinion.
the ones on the list, i would probably say sport compact car, but i personally really like grassroots motorsports. where is that one???

It use to be white with Apexy stickers and other decals on it untill I ripped them off, Then my Friend Got the great idea to paint it orange and rip the resister out to the engine.
Now it's twice as fast and looks hot.

If you haven't seen any of these already, you must do so now or die!!!:
1. Retro Cars!!!!
2. Zoom!
3. Max Power (minus the bazillion pages of girls and cell phone ads)
4. Banzai
5. Old Skool Rides
6. Rolls & Pleats
7. Grassroots Motorsports
Of the mainstream US magazines (excluding old school mags like rolls & pleats) the only ones I look at regurlarly are HCI, Super Street, SCC, and Turbo and usually end up buying HCI because of the unique cars that they feature (mega-horsepower E36, yellow MR-S, 400+ hp Corrado come to mind).
IMO pictures of umbrella girls and show models are a waste of printing space that could be filled by a pitcure of a crazy turbo setup or an ad for a product I've been looking for. I understand that it does draw sales but if I want to see girls I'll buy a Maxim or FHM.
Also, I much prefer the UK and Japanese magazines because they have pictures of all the important stuff: front of car, back of car, interior, motor, suspension, stereo (if any), and fuel deilvery (if anything special). It seems that a lot of US magazines don't get it that you should show the car as thoroughly as possible - I picked up a Modified issue (their epscial 10th issue or something) and was trying to find a picture of the engine of the blue MR-S and there was none!
BTW - are there any job openings at HCI ?
