I already know what all of you mean, and I've only been here for a few days. Just mentioning something incorrect or an opinion sets em off.
I have only gone off on one person(and was hit up because of it).
I do think they need to do something because certain people are constantly giving out misinformation and acting as if they are some authority on the matter. I have PMed them on the matter and am still waiting for a reply. They need someone thats a living database on here to keep people from spreading BS. This forum is alot of young and new people so it ok to not understand things, just dont lie about facts because some of us are not that stupid. This forum has alot of problems but no forum is perfect, i think this forum could do rather well. Especially if the mods were given a little more power to keep people in line.
Quick point out:
You can always tell when Nissanguy gets mad. His typing skills go out the door. (I'm not flaming you, just poking fun.)
Anyways... we should have seen this coming. Or maybe we did but didn't do anything about it. You see, this is what happens when something is recognized by the media. It becomes "popular." Everyone thinks its "cool." In-turn it becomes over run because people want to be apart of it but know nothing about it.
On another note: (Just my opinion)
I don't like the comparison of a Mod to a Cop. In most cases I can't keep a conversation going with a Police Officer, but we can all talk to NG_24, Ghost, and the others as a friends and fellow enthusiasts.
Though I think it would be nicer to see some of the more ridiculous posters banned, I am not an Admin. I believe what should be done, will be done, in order to keep this forum in shape. We all know who the good guys are here. If a post is "stupid" or is a "repetition" we don't need to flame people, just either point them in the right direction, or ignore them.
"If you take away all that causes you discomfort, what will be left to measure your pleasure?"
I think the problem is not that the people are assholes its that all the locals on this forum spend more time posting on this and a 100 other forums and no time drifting that goes for the moderators also. The only ones that really can drift are doing it and have no time to post all kinds of crap on the internet and act like they know all.
Originally posted by nedinic dude how come when you said ""Assholee,"" it didnt say censored censored*censored*censored or wutever???
yea good points
it didn't censor because he tricked the system by adding that extra "e" in the word.......there are so many ways to trick the system into not censoring words but... everybody just play it safe, have some fun, and keep it real..........
no matter what! this site will always rock simply because its the liveliest!
plus drifting.com is the place to be!
and you're doing an awesome job Nissanguy_24!

Now that poses an interesting conundrum. Yes, it would seem that alot of people spend time on here. I spend alot of time on here. I do it at work. Some people Drift, some don't. I also have one car down and one about to be brought back into service. People have different reasons why they are not Drifting every minute of the day like yourself I take it. Just because people don't spend every waking minute in the seat does not make them unable to Drift, as your post implies. Although, there are alot of Mouse Drifters in here, i'll give you that.
So before you generalize and make yourself look like a Troll, think about it. Not everyone can Drift all the live long day like you seem to be able too. Oh and you might watch coming into a Forum and calling everyone in it posers in different terms, remember, you are in the same forum that you are bagging on. Sounds like you are in Atlanta. After my car gets up, you are welcome anytime to head on up to Tenn and make my aquaintance. Myself and my peoples are easy to find. Come run my road. Heck, let's have a party. I'll actually be in Atlanta right before Nopi hopefully to have a meet. Can meet there if you like. I'm always eager to meet other Drifters.

Making friends quick... Honestly, I'm trying to graduate from college. I highly doubt my career as an actual driver more or less drifter. I'm an engineering student. Do you ever read Dave Coleman's column in Sports Compact Car? He's my hero. That's the type of job I want.
I think people like you need to realize, that people use people like you to make money. Marketing people market parts toward people like you who do not care about the actual politics behind the reality and make a killing off of it.
I really don't want to be the best driver in the world. I want to help the drivers build status as best drivers in the world. Some people are just crappy at driving. That's me... Hey, I admit it. Look above my avatar. Its says it clearly... "Drifting Fan Boy"
Anyways, I'm sure most of the regulars on this forum excluding me could kill you on the touge Mr. youdontspendenoughtimedrivingandwastetimeposting.
Originally posted by nissanguy_24 I tried to keep this place from turning into every other forum on the internet filled with nothing but "flaming" and assholes. Hell i was attacked for misspelling a homonym (words that sound alike but are spelled different) then my 'credentials' in racing were attacked, because i stated my experience with S13 brakes. (i have non by the way, im just a guy who likes drifting his S13)
I *KNOW* you're talking about me.
To make you happy, I was banned.
I asked sent several e-mails on why I was banned, but I never got a straight answer.
I only remember the forums rules popping up once (when you first register), but I wasn't able to find it since.
I've checked the FAQ, and almost all the other links in here with no success.
Anyways, back to your rant...
You're extremely thin skinned.
I dunno how you interpreted my replies as "flaming".
You have no idea what a real flame is.
Believe me, if I wanted to flame you, you would know it.
I did not flame you.
I only had a disagreement with you and stated my case.
Last time I checked, this is a public forum...with rules.
As long as the rules are not broken and mods are okay with it, almost anything goes.
This means you're going to get people disagreeing with you.
If you can't handle it, go complain to the mods.
If the mods are not going to do anything about it, you're out of luck.
As for "racing" credentials...
We all suck.
You suck.
I suck.
About 99.44% of the people on here suck.
Out of that 99.44% of people who suck, 90% of them think they can drive but they can't.
All of the drivers who I know have skills do not brag about them - that's how I can tell they got skills.
A good example is Alex Pfieffer - he does not brag about his skills.
And I know he's better than you...
You really should listen to those who disagree with you.
Sometimes, this is how you learn.
If you can thicken your skin, you might be able to learn something.
Having a healthy debate will give you more knowledge, whether you are wrong or right.
If people like you (or apparently me) had some tact he wouldn't need to go around wearing elephant hide all the time. SMC wouldn't get fired up over nothing. Perhaps you lack manners?
I agree, you need some tact. Whatever knowledge you have just lacks any substance if you put it out by putting someone down. By the way, he is a mod. So I guess he did go complain to the mods since he is one. If you disagree with something someone says, there are ways to go about discussing it on a public forum and there are ways not too, you just chose the latter. Use a little respect and decency when you talk to people and they won't have to thicken the skin.

If we all had better manners and tact, the world would be a LOT better place.
I don't profess to be perfect.
I don't profess to being close to perfect.
I do have my flaws.
We all do.
I would think a little tolerance would be a better trait than being tactful.
Maybe you need to go look at the thread we are discussing about?
Did you even read it?
You know...I dunno what is more insulting...
The guy who professes he knows more than he thinks he does, or the person who "rudely" puts them in their place and points out their mistakes.
No matter what the case is, you're stuck in a Catch-22 where you are argue the other person is wrong.
I would think the BETTER suggestion is to READ everything before getting insulted.
I find you learn some things that you didn't know before if you just read some of the "harsh" criticism...even if you don't like it.
The problem with drifting and the drift crowd in general is basically how the import drag scene was (and still is).
There's a LOT of people claiming things that were utter lies.
Of course you're going to run into a lot of fights and debates on this, as you're confronting someone - this is always going to illicit a bad response...most of the time.
I think this inflicts ANY automotive related hobby.
The goal of automobiles is to be the best looking, fastests, quickest, most poweful.
With that in mind, "trash talking" and bull**** is going to be part of it - it's just the nature of the beast.
My point was that I did not flame the original poster.
I believe the original poster does not know what a "flame" is.
Accusing me of FLAMING is just wrong.
I'm trying to argue my side of the story.
