    IMHO:

I think its a good idea. Let others bring their 'vision' to the table to compete...As with everything else: The PEOPLE will decide what they'll support. Sponsors will decide and the TEAMS will decide. Who knows how they'll do without people giving them a chance?

The scene did start in Japan, but I think that America will always put its spin on things. Some see that as good, some see it as a negative. I like being an individual and wouldnt survive in a Japanese lifestyle.

That control box idea is another example of how we do things in the US. We will try out new stuff to see if it makes things better...if it doesnt, we'll try sumthin else........

Look at the Basketball Olympics this year: We created the sport and were at the top for the longest. Other countries have grown to love the sport and put their own twist on how to play....they kicked *Censored**Censored**Censored*. WE WILL catch up to the Japanese drivers...it's only a matter of time. The 'JDM jockers' dont wanna see it...but its comin'

In the Sea of life: Creme will rise to the top and the Bull *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* will drop...

In that Spirit of doing things:
I welcome the new organization...lets see what you got!

actualy just to knit pick at your basketball example. The NBA and the US basketball olympic coachs had the chance to build another unbeatable team that could shoot threes and rebound. But marketing got in the way and they choose all these great players there good yes but not one of them complimeted another of there team mates and the team was full of weaknesses becuase they deiced to make a flassy team that people would want to watch. Geez what happened well they lost to the purto ricans and than greece yeah they suck.

        And so will the WDC

true true true......BUT, they still shouldnt have lost.

They gave that US team a chance. It didnt work, sooooo:
          - I'm sure they'll change things for the next time.
          - It will make the US strive harder to regain the top spot in hoops.

so again, in that same spirit of 'doing things' , give them a chance to show what they can do. before people shoot it down. The current series that are out arent perfect either. Competition will make EVERYONE work hard to be on top and stay there.

That 'unspoken rule' between drivers isnt gonna cut it, unless its put in some sort of 'Official' rules.

IMO a new series would be good for new drivers who has semi-pro or pro level skills. This will give them a chance to shine and possibly "make it" as a pro drifter.

Actually, if you want to talk about the basketball, the whole idea of the pro's even being in the olympics is what defines Americans in general. We HAVE to be better and we will do anything we can do get to the top even if it means breaking rules, bending rules or just plain getting rid of them. If you don't like the way America does it, by god you WILL like it. So using the olympic basketball team as an example of a good idea is not a good idea. They lost because individually, they were great basketball players, collectively they sucked. Too man ego's, too much crap and not enough unity. Thats why they lost, nothing more.

I see the need for another drift series for one reason, coverage. Having 2 series will allow the pros to make more money (should they win), it will allow more cities to have events and will give more people a chance to get better. If they just put the events in the same damm towns that FD does, or stays mostly out west, then they are either stupid or they are just stupid and it's a waste of everyones time. Its just a cookie cutter rip off of Formula D. Sound contests, car shows, Bikinis and DJ's. They only real difference is that lame crash box. It's the Nopi World Championships and thats that.

I sort of agree with Ghost. WDC will be good for coverage, which is what drifting needs. But, I think that drifting should be a little bit more family friendly (like D1). No bikini contests. Please...... PLEASE. Just drifting, and I guess a car show for when there's no drifting going on.

FYI: You do know that over the history of the game (Olympic Basketball) That ALL other countries sent their PRO players against our College kids right?

Dream Team 1 was the first time we sent Pros to match what the other countries were bringin to the table.

                            It was a good example

s13champa: The Pistons are WORLD Champs. Thats jus the great attitude we have here...If its the BEST in the US...Then it MUST be the best in the WORLD.

....aaaaaand usually thats pretty much the way things are in the world.

I'm kind of happy to see multiple leagues. IMO this creates a need for more drivers/teams, which means more up and coming drivers might get their chance. Then we could all go do dounuts in the control box hahaha. I say as long as the sponsors will put down the $$ then it cant hurt. It will also increase the chances of more different tracks being used which is good in my opinion.
