we should all face it. Drifting is cool whichmeans a ton of ignorant people are gonna watch initial d and buy option vids and think they are cool because they got sideways on a hil and told everyone they were "running the touge" its those people who are bad for the sport, not huge money making car manufacturers. Face it, half of the audience that watches drifting, is probab'ly worse for drifting than big car companies.

Don't forget about ford pulling out of F1 as well. That definately put a lot more spending money in their pockets.

Bingo to Octagon. With the Nextel Cup turning into a spec class, the production-based aspect of drifting revitalizes the "race on sunday, sell on monday" concept.

(Or should I say, "drift on sunday, sell on monday.")

Ford actually has a chance of selling the product based on its drifting program (unlike Dodge, since few drifting fans can actually afford a Viper).

Otherwise, I can't see why you guys are so against manufacturer involvement. The anti-American car sentiment in here is really getting old.

Go to www.urbanracer.com they have pics of Ken and the Mustang on there. Hope Ford doesnt *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* Ken, like they did Shaun Carlson and his drag racing program. They still owe him money.

Why are people arguing. The kid is in the big times, he got a car and is being sponsored, live with it. Thats what happens when people get good at something, don't be jelaous. Hmmmm i dont know were im going with this but, CONGRATS KEN! LOVE YA MAN!

"Ken Gushi is my favorite american drifter. But if he teams with Ford he will loose the main quality that many rally behind him for. He is the underdog."

I hate to break the news to you but Ken is now more of an under dog. He will be piloting a car with zero support for drifting and he has only a few months to make the car competitive that is completely new to everyone.

For me personally, that gives me MORE reasons to cheer for him. I don't think your lack of support will hurt him either because after SEMA, he will probably gain 50,000 new fans.

Good luck Ken. Drift Association supports you 100%.

Ken is a great drifter. Hes extremely talented, and will bring alot to the table. If anyone can get the foxbody to slide, he can.

I have no doubt that Ken could slide a Foxbody, but the 05 Mustang is not a Foxbody. Quite far from it, in fact.

But Naoki is right about the lack of development time for this car. It's like Rhys in the GTO again...I'm sure they'll work it out though!

I was reading about the rear suspension design for the live axle... I believe Motor Trend or something of that sort... Very interesting article about the live axle...

That suspension isn't designed just for straight line action. It's not traditional...

Hmmm, maybe ford acknowledged this to ken, or maybe they made a whole new drift setup. I was watching Rides on TLC and they had the Mustang GT 05' and they put it on the track, looks all big and beefy but it did perform well, so im not sure about straight line, that prob had a diffrent setup.,
