the BMW M3 GTR actually uses the M5 motor and it's detuned. It's normally 400bhp. I agree that if price was a factor that the Japanese cars would probably be the better choice, but then again you could buy an e30, drop in a euro S52, turbo it, and put on really nice suspension setup for probably around 20k, which is a very very rough estimate, and you could put out 600 rwhp easily.

Apples.......Oranges........
It's kinda hard to compare the two, because they have such great offerings... remember the konigsegg video, where the evo placed second? How about the STi 22B? And Japan CAN make good racing cars. How about the R390 GT1, or the 787B that won LeMans (euro territory) in 1991. There are others that I cant recall right now
btw, I don't recall Germany ever having a gentleman's agreement, limiting the hp ratings on their cars.
Peace,

what are you talking about.? there are bimmers over 600 hp and bimmers are naturaly aspired which means no turbo and it has like 300 something hp and if you put a turbo on that and more mods it can go over 600 hp.
Same with porches they are naturally aspired to.
The closesd comparison i could think of is M3 csl vs. Nsx [/B]

Nismo R-34 ur dumb you dont know what your talking about
If you take a metro and and swap another engine it, it probly wwouldnt be considered a metro, right ?
Some of you guys are nameing like Nismo skyline's and 3 rotors rx7 those are more of racing cars kinda or higly tuned cars.
you could compare those cars to like Hamman tuned cars, like the BMW's or mercedes's or porches, or the RUF and the gemballa.
they are all fast.

It's like the holy grail for us 8er owners...often talked about, but never seen
JAPAN VS GERMAN cars? I never compare the two. but if I had to go one way or the other Id lean towards Germany. 150+mph, a Smooth ride and not even hear the engine straining is surreal.....
The way I see it:
- Hi performance Japanese cars make you feel like the Devil on the road.
- Hi performance German cars make you feel like a God
Hard choice huh?

BMW's going sideways
Here in Cape Town there is a massive German prescence(car-wise). Hell we have the only E46 BMW in the world thats rallying. So its no surprise to see BMW's powersliding all over the show. Turbo-charging your beemer is the norm here, esp. the E36 M3 and 325is. Japan always does badly in our 'Germany vs. Japan' events, simply because evry1 goes for the germs. Anyways here are the pics, its alot of pics so hit STOP and go right down until u get "Sideways + Burnouts", then download them individually.
PS: I prefer Jap cars, esp old school Impreza GT'shttp://www.wpmc.co.za/SCC_Gallery.htm
