you said it man. 240/silvias are cool but they are way too common. i'd take an awsome chaser/mark II/cressidia over an awsome 240/silvia anyday. BTw how much did the swap cost you? what do you have for your suspension?

i had a 1986 Cressida with a factory 5 speed and LSD (that i blew up the first day, pinion was hitting the carrier), i ended up swapping the rear end with that of a MKII celica supra.

GREAT CAR to drift. tons of power/torque. Now i'm not very good at drifting, but that car made it EASY to slide. its soo long that the back end comes out "slow" and has soo much steering angle its very easy to correct. I wish i woulda kept it.

I think the MX73 are the way to go. or MX63. Simply because you can find them with the 5 speed already.

oh and to swap a supra motor you need to change the oilpan and pickup to that from the cressida.

I've also heard you can swap in a 2.5 turbo supra engine in pretty easliy. any information would be great.
my friend drives one and its a pretty good car. you can see it in action in this video. He has Kei office coilovers, and a welded diff. The car drives good too. His forum name is Toycoma and his email is rich@driftbrigade.com

i know im bumping this topic a bit buuut

i have a 1987 cressida and was thinking of modding it to drift spec. Its my first car, and im only 16 with $500 so far saved up. lol i know its not much, but over the summer i will be working 2 jobs.

anyways to get to the point, what should i do to this? an engine swap with a 1jz? or is this project going to be out of my limits? i must agree, i really do like the cressida and its 6 cylinder madness. i can slide it a bit stock with its auto trans. but its not enough...

There's a guy here in Atlanta that drifts a Cressida. Has some pretty good luck with it too.

honestly ... these things are cheaper and easier to find than S13 or hachis (which are friggin' rare these days) ... at least here in vegas. i honestly think if i build another drift whore it will be a cressy ... then modify a Insurance or BN kit from a chaser to fit .. yummy ...
