You should never buy a car because other people like it. Only buy a car you like. Also theres a write up on here on the S chassis cars, its incomplete but it should help you out.

I prefer the '91-'93 because they'll have less mileage and utilize the more powerful dual-overhead-cam KA, rather than the single-overhead-cam.

wutz so bad about sunroof equipped cars?

Sunroofs weigh ALOT. Save alot without them equipped, but they do look good on the 240

You can always replace them with a carbon fiber plug (I've seen them on Civics before). They actual will save a couple pounds and that hole won't sacrifice much structural integrity Anyone knows someone that makes those plugs for the 240sx?

i bought a fully loaded se with a sunroof. some of you people make it out like theres actually a difference that matters on teh torsional rigidity between a coupe/hatch and sunroof equippted cars.

i have NEVER seen a d1 battle where someone beat someone else b/c their s13 coupe had more torsional rigitiy than a hatch. besides if/when you put a rollcage in either cars it wont matter.

get whatever you want. hell get a t top camaro.

Most of the strength comes from the sides of the car anyway, hell if you want a sunroof get one, Personally I say get what you want

is a 240sx a reliable racing car???? not just drifting, but if i were to mod my 95 240sx....would it make a good racing car? or would a 300 zx be better? i been saving up for a 300zx, but if my 95 240sx would cut it....it would be nice?

This should go far beyond just reliability.....you need to realize the
                    differences between the two cars.

The 300zx is more powerful, but heavier. More rare to see around, but has a lot more problems:
                    http://www.zeeyalater.net/comprobs.htm

With the 240sx has more aftermarket support and less problems, but less power and there a lot more of them out there.

The best way to tell which is better though? Drive them both. Check the classifieds, go to dealers, find a friend with one. The sooner you can drive them both the sooner you can figure out which you enjoy more.

And don't buy a car because some kid on a message board tells you to.

Good racing car? What are you going to be using this car for primarily? Drifting? Auto X? Drag? Track only? or something to just cruise around the neighborhood? You need to get your priorities straight before dropping any money. Think what you want to use it for, don't just say "racing car". BTW, your car is manual or automatic?

Alright, I have no idea where you live so the first thing I would do is get involved with your local auto x organization. www.scca.org is probably your best place to start. The sooner you get to the track the sooner you can start figuring out what you wanna do to your car. My first suggestions would be suspension, weight reduction, tires/wheels, etc. You probably should avoid engine upgrades or swap since those will be a big hole in your budget and offer little auto x advantage. Like I said thought be sure to check out scca, they should have local clubs or if just search forums, webpages, etc. to see where people are doing it at. Enjoy!

I am looking at more 240's, and I was wondering what you guys pick for suspension, mainly in the coilover area. I know alittle about suspension, and plan to learn more.. FAST... but since im still the neophyte here, I want some advice.
