Good Points HX-50...Humankind is driven exploration, you can't simply cut the space program, we need to push harder explore further its our way. And however u tied the space program and gas prices to bush is a lil confusing. I really don't have an opinion on our presidents. There's only a certain amount of power they have, you have to factor in Congress and UN and all sorts of other factors, you really can't blame it on ONE person or ONE party, the line between the parties is so narrow they've become ALMOST identical. Remember Bush was the one pushing to DRILL up Alaska for the oil reserve we sit on, but Green Peace and the EPA are all worried about da lil fuzzy creatures so there have been conflicts. Love him or hate him u live in a free society that lets you believe what u want, most countires are lucky to have that alone. BTW 1.99 out here

bush pissed OPEC off by invading iraq, OPEC then shuts down a bunch of pumps, raising the demand for oil, while lowering the supply. That isnt a good thing because as of late its gotten more costly to drill in america for oil. Thats why lately we (US) have switched to central american, gulf of mexico, oil. In fact within the last month about 70% of all our oil came from that region. Thats why the prices within the last week have dropped a couple pennies. Yes i do know what i'm talking about, my dad works for Weatherford (big american and gulf of mexico, oil company) and so i pay attention to things like oil. Next time look at the facts before you say that Bush had nothing to do with, just because you like him doesnt mean you can overlook the mistakes he has made in office.

edit- yes i know its higher in other countries, and i know we americans sound like cry babies when we complain about gas and oil prices, but thats because thats what we are used to. If your gas price shot up 65% since 2001 you'd be mad too!

edit (again)- just got done watching CNN ( wow i'm a nerd) and OPEC just cutoff more supply to america, and as a result your gas price just went up!

Once we have setup a new goverment in Iraq, oil will be cheaper. The problem bush is making is going to other countires. Instead of going to mexico, get it from our own land until the problem in other countires is sloved. Were the number 1 consumer of oil, now dont you think if we stopped buying oil all together from those countries, theyd be hurting? They would lower there prices. Its basic economics. Supply and demand, if theres no demand, price drops.

                    Gas

Please, Xantos, this isn't a political website. Premium here in central Cali is 2.49 for premium. What a shame. Oh and about Clinton's "foreign relations"? He simply reaped the benefits of Bush Sr's. campaign. You can thank Bush Sr. for the boom, cause we didn't see the results till Clinton was in office. Sorry, had to say it, hehe.

                          $2.01, 2.11, 2.21. Tampa FL,

IMO it's too much. Imagine if people in japan started having to pay $8.50 a gallon. It'd be the same as what we're going through here.

The only good that is coming out of this is SUV drivers are probably realizing how stupid those things are and will hopefully be getting normal cars soon. I'd be willing to bet my 4age with no emissions equipment makes alot less pollution than the average suv. It only burn half the gas!

Maybe this will make a gas crisis and auto manufacturers to start making light small engined cars again

Bush Sr. did help, a lot. He began what W. ended, all throughout Bush Sr.'s and Clinton's terms we had decent relations with the middle east. However we did have bad relations with former Soviet Union countries, and...

forget it i sound like a freaking nerd talking about former presidents and their relations on a car web site. You guys can think whatever you want, i for one am done with this argument.

Although I'd like to get this thread back on track, I want to point out something.
"all throughout Bush Sr.'s and Clinton's terms we had decent relations with the middle east"
Hmmmm... no. Desert Storm, anyone? And I also believe the USS Cole incident in Yemen occured during Clinton's last term in office. Also, I don't understand why everyone's bashing Bush so much. This country wouldn't have been any better off with Gore as president. And most of the the people that complain don't have any right to considering they didn't even vote.
Anyways, back on topic. Gas prices in Dallas county: 87 octane regular unleaded- $1.91 9/10, 89 octane super unleaded- $1.94 9/10, 93 octane premium unleaded- $1.98 9/10
I guess us Americans don't have alot of room to complain compared to other countries. But I hate greedy people, especially greedy Saudi oil barron bastards. Those OPEC countries are already better off than most of us Americans. Who needs a Benz in the big sandbox anyways?
