      ---Which month was this article in Import Racer that you are refering to? I probably have it and missed the article. Thanks to everyones responses. It's very helpful; even if having to hear an exhaust before I buy isn't the easiest way to do things! LOL. I don't mean to sound like I know nothing about cars, but in the past, the most work I have done to a vehicle was a '78 Ford pickup. Since then, I have become obsessed with the S13 FB and I will be purchasing one as soon as I get back to the US this next spring. Thanks again for your help.

        I love my apexi N1. Go to www.zilvia.net They have a section that has recordings of various exhaust sounds for your sr for you to make a choice.

          S13DREAM, this was the issue with the HKS CT9A TRB-02 on the cover together with the whole article about SEMA show and AE86 differential installation. Missed the issue? I'm quite close to Germany, I could send you it. PM me for details.

                Yup, I didn't hear anything bad about A'PEXi, expecially the N1 systems (GTSpec could be a little too loud). "Made in Japan" guys...

                Tanabe would be a good shot, did you think about it?

                  Someone told me once that japanese exhausts are usually a bit more reserved yet aggressive sounding, and that american exhausts are generally more obnoxious. Is this true?

                    Apexi N1 and HKS hi-power are the best in my opinion. I am getting HKS hi-power for Christmas . Thank you Santa!

                        Well, I like my high flow Cherry Bombs. Sure, it may be exhaust for american muscle cars, but there is quite a power gain and it sounds great, everyone has complimented me, from American muscle fanatics to hardcore ricers.

                          HKS = EXPENSIVE and EXAGGERATED
                          APEXI = AFFORDABLE and EFFECTIVE

                              Ya, if you want quiet cherry bombs are definately not the way to go. But they sure are cheap, and they have a really good rep.
                              Like seriously, stop by like a Kragen or something and they are around $20.
                              Sure, a lot of you may call them cheap crap, but American muscle cars have been using them forever.
                              Anyways I have them on my (soon to be mine) '66 GTO. They really are cost effective....
                              The only downside is that they are red (hence the name "Cherry") and you would probably want to pain it.

                                Im pretty sure there are other good exhausts out there like from GP Sports and 5zigen but i guess you want one on your list

                                If you want something good but quiet remember to get something thats queit without a silencer
                                those things are good when it comes to dropping dBs but its real bad for the engine, adds exhaust backpressure or sumthing like that
                                just my 2 cents
