the price is whatever you can get the hydrallics and tranny for at a junkyard..

500 easy if that around here. the trouble is finding a manual 240 even in a junkyard

No man, I'm just messing with you.

If you get a motor swap down the line, they usually charge you about $500 (900 Canadian?) to convert Auto to Manual.

If you do enough research you could do the tranny swap yourself in your driveway in a day. I would strongly suggest taking a reasonably priced good condition auto over an overpriced decent condition manual - you're looking at a car that is at LEAST 6 years old (S14) or 11 years old (S13) depending on body style and you really need all the healthy parts you can get. Be very aware of rust damage as well, especially since you're in a snowy part of the continent. Rust can be the difference between a "project car" and a "money pit".

FYI - if you're looking to make it your daily driver and commuter to events, the liftback comes in really really handy...

Did nobody like my HICAS joke? I thought it was good.
